Yes, that's gone because now you have all the functionality available from the new admin console (Web Client). Is there anything that you can't do from there?

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
I would have liked access to the deprecated management console as an alternative solution during a transition period... especially until the guides are updated, to offer a better experience to our clients.

Here are some scenarios I've encountered so far. They are not insurmountable, but they do make our task more difficult.

  • We have not finished transitioning all systems to create an Owner access for ourselves. Some systems have an Owner access, but it's the client's; we haven't finished creating a second Owner access for ourselves. If a client updates without notifying us, we can no longer connect even with Root (Admin) access. We would have liked a temporary backdoor... With /deprecated, it allowed us to connect with the ROOT user and create an Owner access. It's not insurmountable, but it makes the task more complex.
  • I am trying to download Log files (Aka; 3cxManagentConsole.log and other "logs" files, CallFlow information and files created by a CallFlow project in the same folders as the log files). I haven't found the space to access them.
  • I am trying to start a Wireshark capture. Yes, there are more information/logs, but for escalating to a SIP Trunk provider or hosting service... generally, escalation is faster with a PCAP. It's not insurmountable, we can start the capture in SSH, but having the tool in a GUI was convenient. For example, I want to know if the SIP provider is correctly sending me the Invites.
  • I am looking to create a 3cx bridge between two 3CX systems (with presence). I can't find it... maybe the option is hidden somewhere, but I can't find it. In the meantime, I would have liked to manage with the old console to then search when I have more time.
    .
I haven't explored all the functions, but just for the scenarios written above, I would have been nice to have a transition period. I am not resistant to changes... but I like them not to disturb operations.

I want to reiterate that all of this is not insurmountable, I am aware of that.

Aside from that, kudos for your work! It's very well done! Thank you for integrating CallFlow into the new management console, and I like the System Health report! I could also name many other features that I love!

Well, we just released a beta, users should not upgrade yet. You should start asking for this to your customers, so you don't have issues when we finally release v20 and your customers upgrade.

You can get the Support package from the dashboard, that contains all the log files.

I agree that this is useful. I can't tell if this will be added with the final release, but probably yes.

This is still pending, it will be definitely added before we release the final v20.

That's the idea for us too. This is a big change, so users will need to adapt, but everything that you did in the old management console should be available in the new one as well, your users should not experience operation issues. Please note that this is still a beta, intended for you to provide feedback and get a sneak preview of what's coming, not ready for production yet.

I understand, it involves downloading package info from everything, and it contains a lot of information that we shouldn't download unnecessarily (Events logs)... and I only have the logs up until the previous service restart.
Could you please consider reintroducing log management, with the same view as the old console?

Simpler said than done, but I understand that it's not an issue for you, and that it's up to us to adapt.:p

But even with the final version, the issue remains.
Yes, it gives us more time to do it, but... the fact remains that the Back Door gave us a last resort chance in case the client deletes our access or something else.

At least, just for the reason of "smooth migration"...
yes, we can test the Beta version, but... many scenarios will be carried out in production, and we'll be searching for the settings.
In short, this is probably not the place to share my suggestions, there are sections for that (ideas), but in brief, it's a pity. A simple /deprecated that made life so much simpler.

 Perhaps at the 3CX event on December 1st, I could offer enough beers to a member of the 3CX team, possibly influencing their decision about what features to reintroduce in future versions of 3CX. LOL, okay, I understand, there are probably rules that prevent us from bribing a members of the 3CX team... xD

Thank you for taking the time to respond @edossantos , it's sincerely appreciated! :p

We upgraded today to test the process, all in all went well, eager to see how all the new feature flesh out, definitely like the emailed log for errors like when V20 upgrade failed which we knew would because we did not meet the hardware specs.

Added a provider migration in the mix and that was straight forward though all should be reminded at least for now that when moving you must use an V18 backup first then upgrade 3CX to V19-20 on new machine with current iso and packages out there they balked and the restoration because of versioning, but that's what testing is for, and it was only released today.

As for the new GUID and the removal of admin console it's a lot of information in a totally new format and new places, for folks that have been around for some time this like the transition from the windows admin app so I recommend all take the time to spin up an instance and take a look.

Also, with the system owner in V18 notifications only went to email address assigned to notifications under email page but in V20 now the system owner gets the info also, so, upon upgrade my personal mailbox was flooded with notifications in addition to the specific 3CX MB we had listed in V18, will have to rethink this one on convenience vs information would be nice to control that like V18. Lastly this setting moved to a new location under Admin-Event Log.

Good week to explore....

now the system owner gets the info also
Hmm, all system owners? We have been creating one for us and one for the client (in case they ever need it) but have had alert notifications go to us...

Made no changes to our alerts just upgraded and got all the notices just as the dedicated alert mailboxes had been getting, hoping it's just a beta thing. Because of the push to make sure the owners email addresses are included in licenses registration which I get, but I know some will be like "why I am getting reboot and backup messages". Hopefully there will be a toggle so they get what's important like license renewal and not all the transactional stuff or some clarity on the new group permission. Need to explore some more on the beta permissions but wanted share before folks had many new emails in two spots.

:(

It's no longer possible to change inbound parameters and outbound parameters directly in the SIP Trunks. Now, you have to export the Trunk, make modifications in the template, and then re-import it.

So,
Customizing popular fields for the caller display will become more complicated.

From : Display Name
From : User Part

Remote Party ID - Calling Party : Display Name
Remote Party ID - Calling Party : User Part

I noticed the same thing. I am assuming that those have only been left out of the beta and will be implemented in a future, pre-release, beta?

This is not to challenge you, it is just to develop the list :)
I love the new version, but it's missing a lot of things.

Not having the Wireshark ( PCAP Capture from GUI )
Not having the SIP Trunk Inbound Parameters
Not having the SIP Trunk Outound Parameters
Not having the Mass Edit (Extensions)
Not having the Logs files page
Not having the option Bridge 3CX
Not having the option choosing whether or not to backup Voicemails, Custom Templates, Logos, Firmwares , Faxes, License Key Information, FQDN & Conference.
Not having the option determining who receives system notifications. The Owner always receive the emails 3CX notifications.
Not having the option for send Welcome Email without Reset Webclient password
Not having the option to bulk regenerate SIP (and interface) passwords.
The regenerating (individually) does not reset the voicemail password.
It's no longer possible to import Inbound Rules (inbound calls routing) at the same time as the DIDs list.
It's no longer possible to export (CSV) one or some extensions, it exports all the extensions
It's no longer possible to custom the phone interface password (without CSV import)
Not having the Dect/FXS page
Not having the HotDesking page
Cannot schedule auto-restore a backup without enabling FailOver monitoring. ( FailOver managed manually )

This is a list I have been able to make so far.
I'm not saying that bad update, I'm just ask that the /deprecated page should still exist until everything is available please.
I'm sad because.. I was happy to have the best of both worlds.
The new management console V20 and the possibility of using the functions missing in the old console.

These are not criticisms. You haven't seen my list of v20 positive points :p : She is double this one.

I have to go, I have some "reverse engineering" to do on the new V20 version ! :p
V20, what are you hiding from me? LOL

Positively,

Positively,
Not able to edit user forwarding rules exceptions hours as well. Only CID and destination.

Hi at all,

at the new beta there is also the brute force settings missing after which time the ip is blocked.
This just as an info :)

Norman

v18 (and prior) mngmt console -> Settings -> E-mail -> Notifications allows you to choose which events trigger e-mail, allows you to specify one or more recipients.
Not seeing that option (might have missed it?) in v20

@Guillaume Bourgeois
sip header content (both in / out) is good point.

Hi All

is it obliged, you 3CX team, need to restart from a virgin page each time you modify things on PBX, apps etc...?
Don't forget final users have to get the product easily in mind , in hands, as us all the same and each time all is changed , renamed, don't does the same it used to , is at least a loss of time or worst this is boring users.
I understand 3Cx is not a black box you set and forget, it's a living system but customers are not asking us to give them more learning time each release changing too frequently their customs.
Most of the time your job is good may be excellent and need only few improvment to be top of the top, but it seems to me, may be i'm wrong, you prefer to start each time like you need to reinvent the wheel and lose all the benefits of previous and precious job, that you all have already done.

Please, let the V20 there for an extended time, because changing and changing so fast give us the idea we follow always a new direction.

Also found that in V20 there is no longer a rights page for Users. Just the preset options for roles but i can no longer edit those or make changes. I need the ability to make fine adjustments on a user by user basis like in V18

Where can I find the inbound rules to configure CID in version 20?

It's all based on the department now. Assign a DID to a department, make the changes to the department itself.

Can we get clarification what roles get notifications by default in V20 in V18 this was all controlled by Email Settings, Notifications.
It seems that it's not just system owner but also other roles. We would really like to control this like we could in V18 instead of it being hardcoded.
