i am hosting my PBX on Amazon, connected to sharepoint, is it possible to change the recording format on the pbx from wav to mp3?

will save space on sharepoint

and also setup to keep recording for 3 months only?

If you use the external storage, you can't use the autopurge of recordings. You need to set that up on the remote storage (SharePoint in your case.)

And no, 3CX cannot convert to MP3. It uses only WAV files.

I recommend looking at @VoIPTools Recordings Manager which not only converts them to MP3 to save space but can do MUCH more with the file.
