Hello,
What options do we have to play a message and disconnect the call, please?
We did it through a DR but after the message, we get "thank you, good bye". I know where that comes from (system prompts) but I can't figure out how to set up a custom one (a few seconds of silence) just for that DR message.
I don't want to do it on a call flow because will be difficult for another colleague to change it.
Thanks

You can create a custom promptset which has the "Thank you, Goodbye" prompt replaced with the Empty.qav prompt.

You will need to rename the empty.wav file to thankyou_goodbye.wav

This way the naming of the files remains unchanged, but the content is what you need.

The instructions on how to do this can be found at https://www.3cx.com/docs/system-prompts/

Thanks for your reply.
That "silent" message will then be applied for every user on the system, is there an option to assign it to one user?

No, this is why you would create a SEPARATE prompt set that will only be applied to that one digital receptionist.

The normal prompt set should NOT be tampered with.

Another option would be creating a CFD app that plays a prompt and drops the call. If you have some experience with the CFD, it would be very easy.

Thanks for your help, this makes sense now.

Yip, we also have this option available. Thanks

I had to pause after reading through this thread. Can I make an observation? @kokolino23 specifically said "I don't want to do it on a call flow because will be difficult for another colleague to change it." Yet, when the option to use a CFD was presented, it seems this is now an acceptable solution. As participants responding to questions on the forums, what do we learn from this thread?

Perhaps the take-away is that if there are no other reasonable options, we should still offer solutions that go directly contrary to the stated requirements? You know some people will be annoyed that we offered a solution that directly violated their stated wishes, and others, like this one, will embrace the option when no other choice is possible.

Kudos to Ernesto for braving the potential complains and stating the obvious.

I don't understand your point TBH, Nicholas Paras explained very well the option available with a DR and changing the prompt.
CFD option is also available and works as a treat but we have to store it somewhere so it's available for another engineer in case we need to change the greeting/prompt. There is no option to download the CFD from 3CX once we upload it and goes live on the PBX. Not all my colleagues are familiar with CFD but that's a different matter.
The solution offered by both Nicholas and Ernesto are spot on and answered my query and I did say thanks to them. Not sure why someone would offer solutions that go directly contrary to the stated requirements ?!

To be clear, my comment was neither a complaint, nor a commentary on whether a CFD is a good solution. Frankly, I think the CFD is the right approach.

My comment was more about how we, as experts in the 3CX platform, need to be careful about limiting our suggestions when a user preference would seem to exclude what we feel is the best approach. You said you did not want a CFD solution. Nevertheless, Ernesto stepped up and said a CFD is the best approach. You came around to his point of view after he identified why a CFD is the best approach.

I learned something valuable about offering unfiltered solutions through this exchange. That was my only point.

No worries at all, thanks for coming back to us with an explanation. Congratulations for your website by the way, really impressive - same for the products you offer.

Hey guys, I just mentioned the CFD approach because it's just a single component to be added. Creating an app like this is just dragging a Prompt Playback component to the designer, select what to play and off you go. I understand the challenges related to having multiple users and the need of storing the source code. But even if you lose it, re-creating it will take you 5 minutes. That's the only reason why I brought it on the table. The solution provided by Nicholas is also good and works great, so it's fine to go that way.

CFD is a very good approach mate, I've got experience with call flows from another phone system so it's OK. One frustrating thing that I found on 3CX CFD is the name convention but we have to accept it and work with what we've got.
