V20 U8 BETA: AI Chapter Like a Boss!

The department phonebook, would be great to have with the same option as other department features.
This regarding the user rights in the view tab. Currently you only see contact from the main department you are entered in.
Many profiles work cross department and mis out on contacts. These contacts cannot be added to the company phonebook.

As a solution it could be something like this:

WOW - so many gifts... ehm features in one update!
No more dummy extensions or weird forwarding rules for boss-secretaries!
No more creating distribution groups in Exchange for the voicemail delivery for queues or groups!
Also love the phonebook and department improvements!

Feels like a Christmas/New Year gift.....
When it comes out we should celebrate with a couple seftalies, some haloumi, and definately some zivania!!!
(yes... yes... I am starving)

Thank you AGAIN @N_G and 3CX Team for the great work and the constantly updated system!!! KUDOS

Could not help myself - I found a test subject

LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

Just testing the Department Phonebook in the new update, still don't think it's quite right as a user.

Looking at Contacts, it still doesn't show "Department" or the name in the dropdown

When you add a contact, you can select "Department"

but when you edit it, it has no context as to whether it's a company, department or personal or the ability to edit it.

Hope this helps.

Some of our MCM clients are going to love Phonebook Department Support. :)
Now all we need is hold music per department and we'll be rocking! :)

Nice work 3CX Team. Keep the features coming.

Just tinkering with the shared voicemail box, from what I can see, this is only on a Queue of Ring Group.
How would we be able to do a Business Hours, After Hours, Holiday VM so that customers can do different messages based on the time of day rule?

At the moment, we often end up with a few users "VM BH" and "VM AH" so that we can have these two separate messages.
Something to consider for the next release to make it consistent with how all other rules work with "Business Hours, After Hours, Break Hours, Holiday Hours" perhaps?

@HarryI Thanks for the heads-up!!

Re Boss secretary: Yes, a bypass configuration for some numbers is something we will do. A status to forward to boss secretary extension or else the AI personal assistant is also good.... We are working on this

In terms of pricing, to clarify with our customers, in Enterprise edition, will Transcription of Conversations have a per call / per second (or whatever) transcription fees applied, when using 3CX transcription ?
Or has it been already included / planned in Enterprise edition recent price drop, especially due to IA features ?
Sorry if this info is available eslewhere, but was not able to precisely find it.
Thank you very much !

Another question.
With U8, we will be able to perform transcription locally, thanks to a high-performance GPU PC.
Do you plan to make this high-performance GPU PC a shared component, which could be used by several self-hosted 3CX instances ?
As we have the independant SBC component, we could have the independant AI component.
Idea would then be to deploy it in our datacenters, and use it from all our customers' self-hosted 3CX instances.
As a result, we would share costs, and compute power.
Thank you ! :)

For the department phonebook

Access level for roles?
Currently every user can add and delete contacts inside the department phonebook
Something I would see on receptionist/supervisior level

Amazing update, so glad to get group voicemail and not have to use my crazy workaround to avoid dummy extensions. I spent a week creating a whole .NET server that monitored queue participants via the web socket API to add the queue extension number to the call data for a call script that would prompt and record voicemails and then send it back to my server to transcribe (OpenAI) and ultimately E-Mail based off the extension number. Also, Telnyx is back which was a nice surprise.

One request to help eliminate a dummy extension is have the option to select a Digital Receptionist extension for the Admin->System->Voicemail->Calls transferred from voicemail will be routed here.

The free transcription in the cloud will come to an end soon, the beta period is over. Any moment now this will be switched off except for voice mail.

At this point 16sc customers can install the local service to transcribe free of charge (requires GPU machine) 8 and 16SC customers can buy transcription packages, at a cost of about $200-300 per year.

Is there any thought to allow local AI, I have an server that specially handles all of our AI internally that is capable of working with systems like this using OLLAMA any thoughts about supporting that?

From what I tested yesterday, you can import when you are a Supervisor.
I didn't check Reception level access.

No the problem is, normal "users" (Role User) can create and remove department contacts (for their main department).
And I'm sure this is not intentional.

"
Phonebook API and Department Support Improvements

The phonebook system now fully supports Company, Department and Personal directories and is now supported in Multi Company Mode. Administrators get clearer control over contact sources, while users see only the directories relevant to them. Import and bulk-delete actions now respect roles, department membership and multi-company mode for cleaner and safer contact management"

Are we still limited to max 500 contacts in multi tenant ?

EDIT:
To answer my question.
No limit. Thanks

Yes, can confirm, User with "User" role can delete Department Contacts.
This should be looked at so that they cannot delete Department Contacts.

Can confirm they are also able to add Department Contacts

Morning,

Quick question regarding the new phonebook features in U8, specifically in Multi Company mode. As we know the Department phonebook becomes the users Company phonebook when in multi Company mode which works great, but a users IP phone in this case a Yealink will show the contacts as empty.

Is there any plan to allow IP phones to read the company contacts in Multi Company mode?

Thanks!

200-300 would be a no-brainer.

For EU customers – is there (or will there be) an option where all 3CX AI-related processing (transcription, summaries) is handled fully within the EU, meaning full EU data residency? Sorry for the boring question, but it’s the first thing our customers will ask us.
