V20 Update 8 Alpha - The AI Chapter

Has there been consideration to allowing users to utilize elevenlabs or something similar for the actual voice creation, but leaving openai as the "brains"?
elevenlabs has it's own 'brain' now after launching their agent platform, and its rather good, but obv 3cx will offer deeper integration into its own pbx as things evolve.

Obviously I'm not suggesting using their AI assistants. However, the voice options with elevenlabs for prompts will allow a lot more flexibility. Sorry, getting ahead of myself...just excited about what's to come with this new update! :)

Are there plans to enable the AI to access an API to allow it for instance check the status of an order for a customer? Check stock on an item etc...

We already spoke with 11 Labs, and after running the numbers, it turns out a large segment of our users would face a standard bill ranging between $1,000–$3,000 per month. The pricing is simply mind-blowing.

You can reach out to them yourself -- I already tried. I was actually waiting for this thread to come up.

As an AI enthusiast and academic, I genuinely admire their software. However, the way they handle partnerships is incredibly one-sided.

They expected us to develop the integration, attach it to our MCP, embed it in our product, promote it across 190 countries, and expose them to our entire install base and user network…

And in return? We were supposed to be satisfied with $300 worth of development credits. They genuinely believed that was a fair exchange.

Their inability to distinguish between fair collaboration and exploitation - or as I call it "Software Slavery" was truly astonishing.

Yes of course.. We will start to work on integrations like Google Drive, Databases, retrieve customer id's, Support tickets, medical records.. All will fall under the MCP development stream

N8N please :) so we can bypass ElevenLabs and connect a PBX call to a chat bot in N8N that can do actions behind it!

N8N is great software and maybe worth considering as a plugin for some very advanced bespoke integrations, but I'm excited to see what 3cx can do 'out of the box' as well
:)

Of course - Google opal, n8n, all great. You can. Go for it.
Feel free to share what you guys build. Maybe we can make an AI section on the forums where we share what you build.

From a 3CX Standpoint, we are going to focus on spawning AI profiles, create useful MCP tools and prepare for our next update. It's not the right time to rush and think of 3rd party apps right now.

Thanks so much for the ideas!

Hi 3CX Team,

I must say you are great and have produced such a remarkable update. We have tested it even on a production environment to get actual usage feedback and it was positive. The following was noticed and migt need your attention:

  1. Phonebook importation not possible
  2. CRM works but tends to apply to all the Departments and I believe per department will suffice. If a user types a number/name, they are able to see details even though its not meant for the deparment.
Hopefully, this can be looked at in the next update phase especially with the phonebook import

Great 3Cxing

Hi! Thanks for your feedback
Adding department support just now as we speak!
Next update..
Also adding phonebook company, personal and CRM checking so the Agent can check in these contact buckets on incoming calls.
Stay tuned for more info and feedback is always welcome

Hi there,

I’d love to explore the new AI features,
but unfortunately, I’m still experiencing the same issue.

Is there any update on this case?

Best regards,
Patrick

Hallo Patrick
What OS you are trying this on? Windows or linux? I can send you a build with the fix.. Like this we can bypass the error and you can evaluate. Send me a PM and Ill organise this for you.
Tschuss!!

I just want to confirm, is it currently possible to use the same GPU server for multiple 3cx instances, or at this time only a 1:1 configuration? If possible, do we just run the same install again on the GPU server that already has an existing 3cx tied to it?

Also - for feature improvement, could you add down alert similar to when a trunk or SBC is unreachable, and for additional clarification, would "failover" be possible, if local GPU is not reachable/down, could say 3CX Cloud (if configured), be able to failover to ?

Should be possible according to this reply : https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/v20-update-8-alpha-the-ai-chapter.135520/post-648239

@TonyLin @NilsHeusch - Thanks for headsup
@bitn2 - Yes absolutely it should be also available in normal installs. Will doublecheck maybe its not obvious but its intention is for both multi tenant and normal installs
@bitn2 + @fxbastler + PBX128 Yes API access to the phonebooks makes sense we will check it out , not sure about update 8 but we move fast with updates!
@KoesioOccitanieTech - Yes you can, so with one GPU server you can serve all you multi tenant customers and include transcription even AI receptionist if you wish!! We plan to make the GPU server available for multiple PBXs as well, so you can run one for multiple PBX under management.

Yes, however Nick posted the following after, making me believe it may not be possible yet? Just seeking clarification.

I also have the issue of the AI agent not saving the call routing destinations. Has a fix been found yet?
