So I have a weird issue. Customer complained that calls out showed caller ID of "Unknown" or "Restricted". I have their 3CX client on my laptop for testing and have found that calls to land lines and SIP trunks have the customers caller ID information (phone number and company name) but calls to cell phones only show up as "unknown" or "restricted". This makes zero sense....please help...I'm going bald on this one.

I am sorry... did someone solve this problem? I am having the same issue with Caller ID and version 15. I work for a California school district, all lines are pots lines. I have 2 sites up and running and getting different behavior at each site. All sites have pots lines from ATT, one site I get a caller id from the lines used and the other I get restricted or unavailable regardless who is called. The site that shows restricted used to be on a Digium system and the out bound caller ID works fine on that system. Both sites are using patton 4114 modems, but the site that is not working has 2 modems connected. (Note - all of my firmwares and 3cx software has the latest versions installed). I see where Business54 added some code to the modem, but console access to these devices is difficult and I have yet to try it. Any one have any suggestions?

I don't believe that code would correct the issue for a PSTN line, but that is also suggested by the behavior being OK on the one site which is using as far as I understand the same device, Telco and 3CX version.

What I would check to see on the system of the site that is showing restricted, is if you have any setting in either the Extension Settings or the Gateway settings that you are setting the Outbound Caller ID, and if yes, remove it as a test. You may be trying to present a number when calking out that is not on one of the POTS lines, or the number may not be in the correct format (10-digit, 11-digit, etc...)
