Version is not updated in registry when client is updated

I noticed when inventorying the software installed across our domain that there were multiple versions of the 3CX Windows client being used. When I checked the machines they were all running the latest update.

It looks like the version information is only set during the initial client install. Automatic updates triggered from within the client itself do not update the version information. You can also easily see this when you compare the version displayed in Windows App and Features vs the version reported by the 3CX client.

That's correct, the automatic updates replace the existing files and relaunch the client.

They do not touch the registry or the original installer.

You can (optionally, if your inventory software allows it) read the version embedded in the executable if this helps.
