Hi

We are moving to 3cx. Our current environment is that we have a reception phone, but if that is busy it hunts to the other phones however if a voicemail is left it goes back to that single reception phone voicemail. The same is the case for out of hours messages.

The receptionist however of course takes holiday etc. Usually when this occurs someone sits at the reception desk (which is where customers arrive too) and takes calls and checks messages on a 2 hourly rota.

Hotdesking etc may work for this which is fine but I do want to control who receives the voicemails. For example i don't want to use group voicemail as we need one person to take ownership of the voicemails. When the particular person is covering reception they are also responsible for our general public folder emails, can we forward inbound calls voicemails for out of hours or if they are in a queue and want to leave a message to a group folder mailbox? I suppose we could setup a dummy extension with the email address of the public folder and use that mailbox, the extension wouldn't have a phone attached to it.

Any pointers would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Simon

Hi Simon,

The destination for calls during out of hours can indeed be a the voicemail of your choosing.
You can dial in

You also can call into the voicemail of that extension by dialling *4+EXT or you can use email notification options for that extension's mailbox
