Hello,

Having an issue with hangup detection I think. When a person leaves a voicemail message, there is about 10-13 seconds of silence after they hangup. Using 3cx Phone System on linux & a SPA3000 as my phone gateway that connects to a standard PSTN/POTS line. Not sure if this is a 3cx issue or an issue with my SPA3000 configuration. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction to get this resolved.

Well the right direction would be to use a supported ATA.

There are several different disconnect methods used on the SPA-3000. The most reliable, and fastest, is Detect CPC. This requires that the PSTN provider briefly removes tip and ring battery from the phone line when the far end has disconnected. Not all phone lines have this option, but it doesn't hurt to enable the option in the hope that is is supplied.

The other options include,,,detecting long silence, which can cause a call to drop if you get put on hold with low level background music, so , not as reliable and may have to be tweaked. There is also Detect disconnect tone. this requires that a disconnect tone is sent from your provider, if you remain off-hook when the other end has dropped. it also means you have to configure exactly what tone to detect (frequency). There may also be polarity reversal, I can't remamber if the 3000 had that or not, it is on the SPA3102.

CPC works best. The others can take some time, and may not work in the 10 to 13 seconds required to solve your issue.
