Just upgraded the phone system to v18 update2 final...

Ive noticed im no longer getting a voicemail XML file in the \Data\Ivr\Voicemail\Extensions\0000\ folder

Is this something thats been intentionally switched off ???

I was using these files to create an entry in a in house system :(

Can anyone confirm if they have stopped on their system, is there a way to turn them back on ?

If you're talking about the xml file that holds the voicemail information then you should still be able to see them in V18 too. I don't know what you're using them for but I'd highly recommend NOT tampering with these files as you could potentially damage the 3CX PBX's internal workings and render the deployment an unsupported configuration.

I did see them in version 18... since update 2 thats just been released im only getting the wav files no xml ??

Im not changing the content of the xml file ? I am using the appearance of the xml file to trigger an external app though

so if the files are supposed to be created but are not what can i do to get this fixed ???

They been relocated into the DB directly without the need to re-index them at every start.

That is a great big ugly bummer.

That breaks a lot of things for 3rd-party developers in regards to managing voicemails and group voicemails. I guess we will now have to look and see if an event is fired when a voicemail is heard, because we can't go poking around in the database to determine whether the voicemail has been heard. :(

@StefanW any suggestions for an alternative approach would be greatly appreciated for us developers that use the Call Control API. I'm sure there is a good reason for the change, but dang.... that creates some challenges for us. And in a service pack so we had no way of testing prior to release. :(

Nevertheless, thank you for confirming the change. At least we know about the change now.

My college @NickD_3CX will have a look later today

As far as I can tell, there isn't some kind of Event Listener to subscribe to, but in each DN you can get some information from "VoiceMailBox" which tells you how many VMails an extension has and how many are unread.

I also couldn't find some way to get the rest of the information like Caller ID, time stamp, etc.

In our initial testing, it appears @NickD_3CX is correct. We do get a VoiceBox event, but it has no detail. It just indicates how many voicemails are unheard, but not which voicemails. Also, curiously, when you listen to a voicemail, the "last accessed" date time is not updated.

Frankly, I am at a loss for how we are going to know when a voicemail has been heard. I will NOT be querying the PostgreSQL database (even thought we could) because I know that would upset 3CX Support.

Unless I can find another way to know when a specific voicemail is heard, I will have to trash-can our enhanced group voicemail feature in our commercial 3CX Voicemail Manager tool. That would be very unfortunate since it is a very popular feature.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. For now, we are scrambling to get an update out the door so that Voicemail Manager works at all.... we were using a filesystemwatcher monitoring to creation / update events on the XML files.
