Unsupported VoIP gateway with FXO and FXS ports, simultaneous operation of one device with a 3CX server.

Hello to all!
Tell me please. I want to configure the Cisco SPA-3102 voip gateway (1 FXO connector and 1 FXS connector). With a 3cx server (I have a local server on Windows Server).
The problem lies in setting the simultaneous operation of the FXO and FXS connectors. I configured the FXO interface as a SIP gateway, with a PSTN line, when setting up I entered the MAC address of the gateway. Both incoming and outgoing communications are working normally.
In any case, the MAC address of both interfaces is the same.
When you add the phone (to configure the FXS connector), an error is displayed: This phone / MAC belongs to the SPA 3102 gateway. Select another phone / MAC.
Can you please tell me if it is possible to add a telephone line without a MAC address?

First of all, you need to know that SPA-3102 is no more 3CX supported perhaps since V12.5, and has no existant template in 3CX to set it automaticly.
That means every setting need to be done manually, on 3CX forum there are lots of posts speaking about this model and similar, like SPA3000, SPA 2102 etc...

So what is your goal exactly ? connect a PSTN line as a trunk?
When you add a phone , what kind, is it an analogic phone?
I'm not sure if phone can be used in same time a PSTN is used

I want to simultaneously connect a PSTN line as a trunk and an analog phone to the FXS connector for simultaneous operation. In 3CX, I did not find an option to add an analog phone, and all other options require entering a MAC address (in my case, a voip gateway), which is the same as the gateway of the SIP trunk (gateway).

As stated, you will have to manually configure the 3102. (Configuring the FXS port is the easy part.) Both the FXO and FXS ports will work, at the same time, just be sure to give each a unique port, on the device. I have posted a number of times about configuring that device, if you do a search through the forum. If you still can't get it to work, post again and I can walk you though it.

I am assuming that it is being used on the same LAN as the 3CX server.

Yes 3CX server and VoIP gateway on the same local network.
The gateway is manually configured.
Previously, the server was on Asterisk and everything worked without problems. I had to switch to the 3CX platform.

The question is exactly 3CX. To connect to the PSTN line (FXO connector), I created a setting in the SIP trunk section. In this section, I have specified the MAC address of the VoIP gateway. I configured the gateway manually and everything works fine, there is an incoming and outgoing connection.
But when added to 3CX, the phone (for the FXS port) immediately asks for the device model and its MAC address. I choose any model and when I enter the MAC address (the gateway has one MAC address, one WAN connector), it gives an error: This phone / MAC belongs to the SPA 3102 gateway. Select another phone / MAC. The addition does not occur.
As far as I understand, this is a security limitation of the 3CX server? The question is, can this be configured to work around these limitations?

I was not aware of a requirement to provide a MAC address when creating a new extension. There are times when the same extension number is used on a number of devices.

Even when configuring a trunk, in the past, I have never specified a MAC address.

The MAC is probably associated with the specific provisioning file created for the device.

I have a Windows server installed with a 3cx server version 18.0 (Build 314).
And without entering the MAC address, there is no way to add a device.

The MAC Address is being asked in order to supply the Provisioning file to supported devices.
Because the OP is using a non-supported device, the MAC address does nothing, so you can just enter a fake MAC address just to get past this validation.

From there on, you need to manually configure the FXO interface, which you have already done if I understand correctly, by creating an entry in the "SIP Trunks" node.
To configure the FXS interface, you essentially need to manually create an Extension in 3CX, then use the credentials from the "Phone Provisioning" tab. Again, the MAC does not matter at all because you are manually configuring the device.

Thanks for the tip!
I changed the MAC address in the "SIP Trunks" entry (I just increased the value by one). After that, I added a phone with a real MAC address, configured the gateway and everything worked.

Thanks! It turns out that the "SIP Trunks" entry does not have to contain a real MAC address.
The problem has been resolved.
