Hello all!

I buyed the SBS Version of 3CX! Sometimes all incoming calls works fine and sometimes nothing works! Im from Austria and my Service Provider (UPC Austria) told me that this Software should work without Problems! What can i do that this PBX works permanently?

First Error:
Calling Extension directly from outside!
http://www.3cx.com/support/source-identification-err-2.html
I follow this Guide but it doesnt help!
If i restart, it works for an Hour than it stops working!

Second Problem is the Fax:

I got a normlay Faxdevice connected on a Grandstream Handytone 286!
For Example Extension Number 15 (i have to call directly from outside)

Guys im not a PRO on this Software i need your help!

Thanks for any Answers!

Hi please give us some more informations about your configuration:

Version of 3cx

used phones

and if you say after a hour it stops working
is there no activity in server status log ?
or does only the phones not ring ? (if only the phones not ring it can be a problem with the phones.)

i think we can identify what the problem is and then you can enjoy it :-)

btw i am german and possible you want some help in german?

Andy

Hi Andy!

Thanks for the quick answer! German would be good because my english not the best! :D But i will try to continue speak english here so most of the people can understand me! :D

My Configuration:

Voip Provider - Sip Server with Username (my Phone Number) and Password! (Status is green Registered)
I build a Seperate Network for Voip!
Router = Linksys BEFSR41 (Offical IP Adress) Forwarded required Ports to 3CX PC! The Firewall Test is 100% OK!
One PC with Windows XP Sp2 with 3CX Software V5 3752.0installed! This PC didnt have a connection to others PC! I dont want use Software Phones! I only want to use the Digital Receptionist, Fax (Route to Email if Possible with Voip Provider) and 1 Extension! I create 2 DID/DDI numbers one for my old Fax Device (connected to Grandstream Handytone 286) so i can reach the Fax directly from outside! (work sometimes sometimes not) and one for an old Phone (connected to Grandstream Handytone 286 too)!

(for Security Reason i dont want show numbers and IPs)

Thank you for your help!

Gerd

Is your IP from the ISP dynamic? I have a client that this happens to because for some reason the IP changes and the registration doesn't work until they reboot.
I'm switching them to a static IP next week.

Hello Rob!

No my IP is Static!

Hello Guys!

Going back to Version 3! All works fine now since 5 hours! For what i bought this SBS License of 3CX is to route Faxes as PDF 2 Mail. I only have 1 traditional Fax Device and 1 Telephone. I hope the coming versions of 3CX will fix this Bugs.

I got one Problem to receive fax on the Grandstream Handytone 286! (traditional Fax Device ist connected)
The Fax device is trying to get the Fax but i get an error on Display!
It says abortet. On the Serverlog it says "Call is terminated"

I hope someone can help me on this issue!

Thanks a lot!

Gerd

yes your log state Unidentified incoming call

i think best would be try to use a secon probider to identify if that is a provide specific problem or a general problem. this would help to minimize the time for solving this problem.

if you like i can give you a account from a supported german voip provider (sipgate.de) for some time. then we can see if that is also not running for incomming calls after a hour.

i have a problem with one extension a hardware phone that have ever run but since some time it dont ring (even it is green) but if i restart it run again (atm i try to find out after how much time it is unreachable to find out where it comes from)

so you see it is a bit detective work but it also gives a deep knowlege about this system and gives also some new chances.

you can try to play a bit around with the diferent codecs (best u use a codec with high quality

you can also try to enable the Error correction on your fax that increase a the time but sometimes help.

you can also decrease the speed from your fax to next lower speed

14400 > 9600 > 2400 (or if there is a oversee option this is wort also a try)

Andy

Hello Andy!

Thx for your Answer! I called my Provider before i post here, they told that some customers using this Software without Problems and they told me they will check my configuration again! I tried today to send faxes to myself! (http://www.faxonline.de) Sometimes works sometimes not! Maybe its the testserver from http://www.faxonline.de! I will test it next week from a company! But phone things works like a charm! But why it dont work in Version 5?

Thanks Andy!
