Hi, i'd like to know if there's a way to get users names instead of extension numbers on handsets.
I use Yealink W70B DECT base and W78H handsets. all on 3cx latest firmware

if i change manually in the Base GUI then on a first reboot or new provisioning all come back to extensions numbers.

So is there a way to keep users name on handsets?

Thanks for any fix or workaround tthat could do the searched goal.

As it seems my post has no attraction to get a fix, is there a chance that creating a custom template would do the trick ?
I've seen variables %%ext_first_name_01%% %%ext_last_name_01%% in V90B template, if i add this to handset name value in V70B template will i be good ?

Hello Aws2p,

I do not have V70B, so can not test it for 100% en show you how to do it.
But YES, that is the correct way, copy/paste the existing template in to your own custom template.
Than change the 'name' value to display the name as you like...
This can first name or firstname and lastname, or firstname and ext. number

You should do it, and create your own template that work for you!

Hello Aws2p,

It can work
Please find (at the bottom) these lines:

handset.1.name = %%ext_int_num_01%%
And change this to
handset.1.name = %%ext_first_name_01%% %%ext_last_name_01%%
Do this for all the 10 Handsets

Re-provisioning, and it should all work.

It works fine duplicated template and added vriables to get firstname and extension, then I deleted the dect base , recreated with the new custom template and rebooted the base to get the handset refreshed with new template.
It works great. i even don't understand why 3CX template aren't proposed defaulted to this to get a better native feature.

just a red flag in console for custom template used, but no matter
