Hi,
we work mostly from Remote Desktop sessions. On the local pc's / laptops we have 3CX client 16.3.0.264 installed. From within the RD session we use the webclient (from Chrome if that matters) to control the softphone. Making calls, answering calls, transfering calls works. What doesn't work though is DTMF ie. press 1 for English, 2 for Dutch and so on. The keypad button is just greyed out.

This means uses have to minimize their Remote Desktop session to click on their actual 3CX Windows client. How can we make DMF work from the webclient?

hello ,
what is your experience of the load of the server ?
We have also a RDS environment , but a little afraid of the load that wil be generated.

Verry disapointed that if the webapp runs local , there will no popup before the RDS windows like Teams

Hi @RobertGijsen ,

Yes, the DTMF tones don't work when you are remote controlling the Windows app from the WebClient, if you need to input DTMF, it is as you said, you need to bring the client up and input them directly from there.

That's really unfortunate. Are there plans to make it work? Or is it possible to have the Windows client get on top of an RD session? We can put it on top when it rings, but you'd usually need DTMF when you are calling out yourself. It's very uncomfortable for regular users having to switch to local desktop for that...

When using the Desktop App/webclient in conjunction with the Legacy Windows App to make outgoing calls, the Windows App will not pop up at all so I'm afraid that you will have to bring it to the front manually should you wish to send DTMF. There are no plans to change this behavior as the Legacy Windows app is no longer developed and will be slowly phased out anyway.

Well that's a shame, as we are a company delivering RDS environments to customers. And not all customers want a physical deskphone. 3CX client V18 can't be used from the webclient... Any info on the future for 3CX and RDS / Citrix then?

No info yet, but, as the Legacy App is still operational with 3CX V18 we recommend continuing using that for the time being.

Wow... my previous post just got deleted. It seems you can't speak the truth here. There might have been a 'foul' word in there, and I do apologise for that. But to whoever deleted this; no I didn't want to post with another account. Why would I do that? I have no reason to hide behind a bogus account. I am who I am and I always say what I think. Being honest brought me were I am. And yes it DID add something to the thread, namely that I ansered someones question with regards to resource usage. And namely that 3CX seems NOT to be the solution for RDS customers looking forward. As it is now, that's just how it is. In addition, noone will debate that Electron apps ARE resource hogs. I can see their advantage from portability standpoint, but in no single other way can I see any advantage over native apps. And honestly (again) I think moving to Electron is just a way to spend less money on development than anything else. That's a choice that can be made and a fair enough one for that, but it doesn't mean things can't be said.

I not trying to be an ... here, but just trying to be honest. I'm not trying to fool anyone. Can't say that for anyone here.
