Hi All,

I can see the 3cx webclient can view calls on the 'Switchboard' page which opens a websocket connection

has anybody had any luck getting this functionality to exist? I'm sure i can figure out how the webpage gets the sessionID/pass variable, but is there a simpler way to get access to live call data?

I just want to be able to know which of my users are making calls 'Live' in our system instead of only once the call has been journaled

Thanks for any help

The switchboard tells you that and no, you can't access the connection yourself to grab data.

Make sure you have the right permissions and you'll even see live calls in the Presence tab.

Hey Thanks,

Unfortunately we need the live data automatically so having a web page for the user to manually go and get it doesn't work for our use case

Is there anywhere else that the live call data is recorded? ie CDR logs write data of historic calls, is there anywhere the live data is stored, or is the only place just the switchboard (or presence tab) to grab this data

Thanks a lot

There's no way to get that data live.

What is your goal? Why would the webpage (switchboard) be bad but your own webpage using the API would be fine??

As it enables us to do things like

- show which user is on the phone to that customer (and how long) on the customers profile
- show custom wallboard information of live calls/our own metrics
- track inactive users for automatic assigning of tasks

Without live call data, we can't do any of the above as until a call is over we have no idea (from a system POV) what is happening, until after the call is ended.

Suppose during quiet times we assign agents that have not used the phone in > 5 minutes a task to automatically navigate them to a more productive use of time (without manual management)

currently if they were on the phone for > 5 minutes, it would appear to me as if they've been inactive, when actually they're active

I've seen there are solutions out there for custom wallboards, so i assume the ability to access this data must be somewhere? unless these custom wallboards don't have live call data, but i'd imagine they do.

I know i could do a selenium instance or similar and just live 'watch' the websocket data by forcing it to login manually and watching the page update, but it seems excessively wasteful just to get the raw data so i'm just wondering if there is a simpler way

The raw data are encrypted and unreadable for you, get that.

However, maybe @VoIPTools have something using their API that uses the backend of 3CX to communicate, and not the Websocket (which, by the way, is a webservice for the Webclient and nothing else.)

Yes, we have a REST API and a "events" API you can use to subscribe to real-time events.
