WebHID Headset Integration - How it works

Yealink now has DECT models with a USB dongle as well as bluetooth models.
Ok so Yealink BH72 should be compatible with teams + 3CX Integration at the same time ?! That would be a sort of Grail!

Currently having issues with 18.11.1215 - I have rolled back my personal desktop client to older versions i.e.18.10.461 and I'm no longer having the issue, with Jabra headset integration enabled.

With this latest version (18.11.1215, which I found in this thread) I am unable to pickup/answer calls when using the WebHID driver using Jabra Evolve 75's - in both cases the client doesn't appear to pickup the call at all, though it appears so in the Panel, or the same occurs and the caller can hear myself but not vice versa.

Not using Teams.

Hi,
we use Jabra 930 Pro and I can confirm that the problem with call on hold is fixed with version 18.11.1215.

@Nick Galea will you provide both integrations in the next version? WebHID and the old Jabra SDK?

Users who don't use Teams are very happy with the WebHID in the new version 18.11.1215

@Tyler.Calhoun Good question - we are going to provide both. We still think Universal Driver is the way to go but currently it simply doesnt support both teams and 3CX. We have raised the matter with Jabra and they might address it. But until then we will leave both drivers there.

In retrospect we should have done this from the start but we had hoped the new driver will be the way to go for all headsets.

this is really great news.
With the solution, each user can decide individually which is the "better" integration.

The WebHID integration is probably the better solution, but Jabra still needs a bit of development time. ;)

We have rolled out the 1215 version of the 3CX DesktopApp to a few customers with Jabra 930 headsets.
All of them can now use the hold/resume option without problems.
Good work!

Is this issue something that comes from the WebHID API? Or just something that needs time to get the driver working?
Having a look in future with Windows 11 and pre installed Teams tells me, that Teams will always be around the corner to break the integration :-(

So we have decided to bring back the old SDK in the next update. This SDK was not without issues and therefore the integration will be provided as is. Any issues will have to be raised with Jabra. Couple of points to mention:
  1. SDK is Jabra JavaScript SDK - Version 4
  2. There are some known issues in the past as well for the SDK.
  3. Three versions with major API changes last year that require code changes and retesting on our part. it could be that it was just the beginning but if there are major changes frequently going forward we can not guarantuee we will do it each and every time.
Hi Nick

So does this mean the option to select Jabra will appear again? Any idea when this will be implemented?

We have come across more issues with the 930 Pro now, transferred calls are being cut off when retrieving them so have raised it back to Jabra. Assume they will be in touch again.

They also say they have no idea why the 3CX client isn't appearing in the Jabra Direct software and suggested you might be able to answer this question but I have asked them to speak directly with 3CX.

Hi Benedikt - No i dont think its the WebHID API its the headset that must implement it somehow but I dont know exactly to be honest. We asked Jabra what the plans are around it.

@Dan_TD_BirmTel Hi Dan - Its going to be available as a separate download later today/tomorrow on this thread and in update 7 which will be out as an alpha next week :)

Re Jabra Direct - We dont know its not our software and not up to us.

Strange enough, one thing does not work yet.
When you make or receive a call with the Jabra 930 USB headset and version 18.11.1215, you can put somebody on hold and resume it without any problems.
But when you place a call on hold, then make an attended transfer to a colleage, but the colleage does not answer so you need to resume the original call, it still get's disconnected.
It looks like that this resume button is different than the normal resume button?

Anybody else who can conform this?

I can also confirm that the new 3cx client has resolved the Hold - Resume - Drop Bug

Hi all,

We have a new test release which now contains the Jabra SDK:

https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/misc/3CXDesktopApp-18.11.1217.msi
https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/misc/3CXDesktopApp-18.11.1217.dmg

Give it a spin and let us know how it goes!
This now seems to have solved the Jabra issue for our customers as well.

Why can't you put the Plantronics SDK back on as well and say it is supported by them?

We have extremely annoyed customers with Plantronics headsets that have worked fine up until this change in the 3CX client.

no, we are never going to support Plantronics. Its a lot of work. We never said we support plantronics headsets. We just did in the old windows client with the drivers available at that time. It still works with the headsets of that time. If things were not clear for a customer, then we are happy to give those customers a refund for their key and cancel it so they can find another solution to use with Plantronics headsets.

However, Plantronics works perfect with the Universal Driver - just not with the integraton for both teams and 3cx. Just choose with which app to use the integration.

I have an issue with Yealink WH62 wireless headsets using Webclient on Desktop App. I can select the headset in audio settings, I can answer calls and hangup with the mouse but there is no audio either through the sepakers or mic. Customer has Skype For business running at the same time but even with this closed down I have the same issue.

Is this with the above prerelease app?

Nick, just wanted to let you know that with the latest version of the 3CX DesktopApp (1217) and the Jabra SDK integration selected, all customers with Jabra 930 headsets are now working fine without call-disconnects.

Neither when using the hold button or attended transfer.
Thank you.
