Is it possible to send a webhook to another program when a call comes in? If so how would we set something like that up?

What kind of webhooks? You can take a look at the CRM integration feature.

I'd really like to see webhook integration at the extension level. Currently we have CRM integration when using the web client and limited ability to launch external apps (including a webhook) from the Windows client upon ringing or disconnect.

What would be really helpful is having the ability to use a webhook upon ringing, connect, and disconnect (a webhook for each or a single webhook with a parameter passed for each of those statuses) that is server based.

The available variables should be:

  • CallerNumber
  • CallerName
  • CalledNum
  • CalledName
  • LineID
  • STATE (Ring, Connect, Disconnect)

This would open all sorts of automation, logging, billing, etc.

Having this client based (Windows app, webclient, phone client, etc.) is just too complicated. Being server based, we wouldn't be relying on the end-user at all.

Implementing at the CRM level only handles external calls. I looked at using the CFD but that gets even more complicated because you'd have to rework the entire system.

We do have a server based CRM integration..... And soon a rest API to trigger calls to the system from other apps as well. Just like our Live chat box does.

Wow, it's really exciting to know that we will have the rest API soon.

So, there IS an API coming? Why do I get different information from different departments? Lol

It would be great if we had webhooks for everything including registration, phone calls, property changes, etc. (there are a lot of different event types in the Call Control API). The more events the better!

It would also be nice if we could get a REST API for querying data from PostgreSQL. It would eliminate the need for our commercial Exporter tool, but I'm all for doing things the right (3CX) way...
