Solved Webmeeting remote control Windows UAC not working

We want to use the remote control feature to support our employees. For some tasks it's neccessary to run them as administrator.

On https://www.3cx.com/blog/change-log/webmeeting-build-history/ I found "Added full compatibility with Windows UAC and Run as Admin functionalities". So I started the remote control and tried to run "cmd" as administrator. It opens the UAC prompt on the remote computer, but it's showing up on my computer. So I can not enter the admin credentials.

What am I doing wrong?

Yes. The credentials prompt is not showing up on my computer, so I can't enter the credentials. On the remote computer it shows the prompt.

Hi,

Try to uninstall the 3CX Webmeeting Remote Control app from the remote PC.

Then join a meeting, and the next time you try to remote control it should download the latest version for you automatically.

Once the user installs and runs it, then you should be able to see the prompts

The 3CX Webmeeting Remote Control was reinstalled. It's version is 10.5.10.27223. As browser we use Google Chrome on both sides.

It still does not show the prompt.

Ok looks like you've got the latest version. I have tested it and confirmed that I do indeed get the prompt when I remote into someone's PC.

The one thing to be aware of though, is that the user who installed "3CXWMRemoteControlSetup.exe" needs to have enough rights in the first place. The plugin will only have the same rights as that user, so this might justify why you are not able to see the UAC prompts.

That leads me to the next question: Is it possible to change the install path, maybe by a command line option? Because the service is installed into the profile of the admin user now and it would be great to have it inside "C:\Program Files\" or "C:\ProgramData\".

Nevermind. It seems 3CXWMRemoteControlSetup.exe /DIR="C:\Custom\Path" is the way to go.
