Webmeeting / Wrong time

Hi all,

when I create a web meeting and specify a date in future, the e-mail contains a wrong time. It's 2 hours in the past (GMT) compared to our local time (Europe/Zurich).

The mail seems to be created with "MAILTEMPLATE_WEBMEETING_CUSTOM" and the variable name is "%STARTTIME%". I've setup a meeting in webclient with Date "08.06.2018, 14:12h" and duration of 30 minutes.

We're using the DEBIAN-3CX-ISO and I already configured system time (tzdata) and also removed UTC. Additionally, I changed the timezone of PostgreSQL and also for the roles phonesystem, logsreader_single and myphone_single and rebooted the server. On system and in PostgreSQL it shows correct time now (previously it used GMT). But the email still shows the wrong time.

I searched content of all files for "STARTTIME" or "MAILTEMPLATE_WEBMEETING_CUSTOM", but couldn't find anything.

It's very annoying for us and our customers, that the wrong time is displayed in the e-mail, though the calendar invitation itself shows the correct time.

Can anyone help me out with this?

I don't think this issue can be solved, since we talk about eMail body, which is "time-stamped". In case of web pages, this issue is solved by local scripting, but eMail body is a static text.

To be clear: I am in Germany, the webmeeting server is in Cyprus, I'm inviting you in New York, and somebody else in Los Angeles. How you would expect the meeting time to be stamped in each invitation eMail?

I would advice to add the DST Zone manual in the eMail

Hi Vali,

thanks for your answer. The scenario your wrote is not affecting us. It's clear, that it could be a problem with different timezones, though 3CX could be able to handle this by setting the time format including timezone!

Check attached file, to see what I mean. The invitation has the correct time and the time in body text not. No different timezones included here. Both, the 3CX server and the recipients are in the same timezone, even in the same local network and for sure they have the same timezone settings.

Hi Stefan,

how do you mean this? Adapting the mail template? Where exactly can I do this?

Anyhow, it's still confusing to see two different timestamps in the invitation.

The calendar datetime is correct because calendar is an attachment and is processed (like an image preview) for displaying, while eMail body is stamped, static text.

Sure, I understand this. But why is it "stamped" with a wrong timezone? As written in my initial post, the timestamp on server is set to correct timezone. Where can I change the timezone for eMail body?

Timestamp is set in UTC time, not server local time.

For me, as user, anything different than my local time would be confusing So, it would not matter if the meeting time appear local time -2 because is in UTC, or -10 because it's in server time which is in LA. Maybe a better solution could be to let in the eMail only the calendar, without any "stamped" datetime.
