Hi there!

I have a problem with web clients of some company members.

They can’t do calls or the get broken in the first seconds.

3CX Extension Version 4.3.0.348
Chrome Version 95.0.4638.54
MacOS 11.2.2

As workaround switching to incognito mode works!
I there a final solution?

Thanks,

Stefan

What version of 3CX are you running?

To be honest, the fact that it's working in incognito mode suggests that the issue may be related to browser configuration, cache or 3rd party browser extensions. Are the affected users using any additional browser extensions? Can you try removing them and also clear the browser's cache on an affected mac and let us know if anything changes?

3CX Version 18.0.237

We will try and I'll give feedback

Understood, do bear in mind though that the 3CX Browser Extension is only for 3CX v16 so you should actually also uninstall the 3CX browser extension too for the test.

Okay, so what about BE for V18? is there going to be one?
I'm missing apple support, like the windows phone sofware. The Browser Extension is so far a little workaround.

There will exist an extension but only for click2call. It will not serve as a separate independent dialer as in 3CX V16: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/new-chrome-and-edge-browser-extensions-beta.84960/post-401495

There's a BETA version here: https://www.3cx.com/blog/releases/chrome-edge-extensions-beta/

We're actually planning on releasing the Desktop App for Mac at some point though we are yet to have an ETA.

What version of 3CX have you installed? You can check under "Dashboard >> Information >> License/Version".

Bear in mind that, if you're running 3CX v18, the Browser extension will not work so I'd recommend uninstalling it and trying again.

Do you get the same issue when only using the webclient (without the browser extension) or even trying a Windows PC with Google chrome? If yes, make absolutely sure that you're running the latest Google Chrome version and that all 3CX required ports have been forwarded to the 3CX Host: https://www.3cx.com/docs/ports/

What Google Chrome version are you running, can you give Microsoft Edge a go and let me know if you get the same behavior?

I am using Chrome Version 96.0.4664.55 (Official Build) (x86_64) and Edge won't work well on Mac book do you have anything with Safari?

Me too, but with Version 18.x
As mentioned earlier, the browser extension will not work with 3CX v18 so I'd recommend uninstalling it completely.

There's no browser extension for safari no. Regarding Edge, could you try it with it's browser extension anyway as a test? Also have you tried without the browser extension(uninstall it completely), does it work?

To be completely honest, since 3CX v18 is now the latest stable version and hence the officially 3CX supported version it might be worth simply upgrading to it. Especially if it's the independent dialer that you want as it does exist in the new 3CX Desktop App.

can you help me with how to upgrade it to v18?
Also, I tried uninstalling and installing back but the result is the same.

@Shreekant
It runs on Windows 2019 standard
In that case, all you need to do is:

1. Take a full backup.
2. Move it a way from the machine.
3. Uninstall 3CX completely. Note: Possibly a good time to perform any updates for the OS too.
4. Re-install the latest version of 3CX v18 which you can download through the customer portal. Just click on "Try new portal" in the upper-right corner and then click on "Downloads",
5. Install it and restore the backup during installation.

the upgrade was pretty quick but my issues didn't get addressed I still have the same problem.

@Shreekant
Are you still trying to use the 3CX Browser extension? If yes, as mentioned previously it is not supported with 3CX V18. Completely uninstall the Browser Extension and try the same call with the Webclient only (no browser extension). Does it work?

web client worked but it's not that great to use, any plan to get the release of the native client for MacBook? or any other client recommend like X-lite?
