Welcome email attachments

Hi,

Is it possible to not have the "get_started" pdf attachment added automatically to the "Welcome" emails that are sent to users?

I have edited the email template HTML to include a link to an Intranet webpage with customized guide and I do not want to confuse users with the generic attached guide PDF file.

I found a parameter (ATTACH_3CXCONFIG_WELCOMEEMAIL) to remove the provisioning attachment (which I want to keep on) but cannot find a parameter to remove the guide attachment.

Unfortunately the pdf can't be removed from the Welcome Emails. There is no parameter that you can change to remove the attachment.

Thats a shame. I have managed a workaround by replacing the PDF in /var/lib/3cxpbx/Data/Http/Guides with my own PDF that refers users to the Intranet for instructions.

I'm glad you found a work around, well done! Note that if an update happens, you may need to replace the file again as the system may overwrite it.

Of course as a disclaimer, we recommend against replacing, renaming or deleting system files as we're unsure what the PBX would do if it finds a different file which could cause problems.

Yeah figured that updates could cause overwriting but workaround will do for now. I am suprised other partners have not wanted to substitute the generic guides with their own customised branded guides more suited to the particular installation.

Might put a post in Ideas to suggest as future feature to remove or better yet upload a custom PDF (Edit: well I would but can't because I don't have permission to post there apparently)

That's a valid Idea, and I don't see any idea regarding this in the forum so feel free to post this as you're not the first partner to want to change it, so it may well gain some traction for later implementation.
