Welcome email in French ? V16 SP2

Hi ,
is it possible to receive welcome email and PDF attachment into French from 3CX V16 SP2?

For now all cloud hosted PBX send it in english only, on Premise W10 French PBX are all sending in french.
Is it Related to host native language?

So what need to be set or checked?

Hi @aws2p

This should be tied to the OS language. On Windows it should not be an issue to change the server language across the board and reboot the system.

On Linux I'm not sure if it will cause any issue when changing the language or regional settings after installation. Best make a backup before you proceed in either case just to be cautious. Try it on a test environment first.

I've used pbxexpress on all cloud install which are sending in english, so what do i need to change, i've no idea where and what to do on debian. how to login SSH
Do you have some detailled explainations or do i need to ask a debian Guru ?

Hi @aws2p,

I know in OVH Public Cloud you can go to your Cloud Project, you see all your instances and you can open the menu for an instance and start "Console VNC"
Then you've to log into your debian ann start the magic

You may need a full reinstall, haven't tested changing the language while system is already finished installing

Never see a question about language during install, i've used pbxexpress each time

Yes, I tried it in the past though and not everything will switch to French. Mostly everything was in english except error messages were in French.

Have not gone too deep in the locales but might be best to check with some Linux guys.

My recommendation would be a fresh OS install in French to ensure everything is setup from scratch, on a test system.

I see the "issue". PBXexpress has no idea of the locale during setup as the Debian instance comes from AWS/Google/Azure and we just build ontop. I will pass it on, for now, use this small hack:

sudo rm -f /var/lib/3cxpbx/Data/Http/Guides/get_started_with_3cx_DEFAULT.pdf && mv /var/lib/3cxpbx/Data/Http/Guides/get_started_with_3cx_FR.pdf /var/lib/3cxpbx/Data/Http/Guides/get_started_with_3cx_DEFAULT.pdf


Attention: it can be that with update U3 we will re-write them and you need to do it once more.

you might have to elevate your rights with sudo before deleting/renaming the PDFs

carefull my "code" has no line breaks! maybe put it into notepad++ to avoid this

found an easy way to change locale

once in SSH session
first do a --> locale -a (to checkwhat are languages already installed on your VM)
do a ---> locale (to check the one in use)

sudo nano /etc/default/locale
once in file edit
replaced us language by french

save file
logout
login
do a locale command to check


now i need to test if welcome email comes in French

first try is a failure , always in english , now rebooted pbx to see if it change

YYYYYEEEESSSSSS, after PBX reboot all is in french , I'm auto congratulate
