welcome email / password reset

I went to send a user a welcome email on V20 but then found that this feature is no longer available, but seems to be replaced by a password reset feature. So I reset the password to send the welcome email. Apparently, this caused the extension's two registered IP phones to disconnect from the system. Is this normal for the password reset feature now? I expected the password reset to only affect the web client.

Hi there.
V20 was build with much improved security oriented in mind. Password reset will regenerate the password of the user, so if you have the IP phone, you will then need to re-provision the phone, if not from the console, then reboot the device so it gets the new settings.
