Hi everyone,
I’m trying to use the 3CX Call Control API to make outbound calls from my own web application. I’ve started configuring the API access in the 3CX Management Console, but I’m not sure what I should enter in the Client ID field.
The manual says that the Client ID should be the DN number, but it doesn’t explain where to actually find this DN number.
I tried using my own extension number as the Client ID, but 3CX shows the error “Value in use”, so it seems that the extension number is not correct or is already reserved for something else.
Could someone clarify:
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Could someone clarify:
- Where do I find the correct DN number for the Client ID?
- Is it supposed to be an extension, queue, ring group, DID, or something else?
- And what does the “Value in use” message specifically mean in this context?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
