What Virusscan can run with Win Server 2003 & 3CX

In my first try I used NOD32 virusscanning software but it changed the whole Windows Server 2003 setup and I couldnt reach my 3CX PBX anymore
Does anyone know what virusscanning software is running smoothly on Windows Server 2003 and giving no problems with 3CX?

We are using McAfee VirusScan Enterprise v8.5.0i. It works fine.

If in need to use external SMTP server for voice mail to email. You must Untick "Prevent mass mailing worms from sending mail" or set it allow 3CX to use mass mailing.

I really like Trend Micro OfficeScan for servers. Never had any program conflict issues unlike McAfee or Symantec.

All virus scanners will work from my experienc, it is the port blocking and file locking that suffs it up.

If you configure it right you should have no troubles with any virus scanner software.

While this is very true, I've had lots of problems with software not working because of Symantec being a resource hog or doing too much on the files as it's being checked.

I like to exclude temporary files or text only files like .log in Symnatec antivirus. What temp files extensions does the pbx use during the queueing and execution of the calls?

I know its expensive, but you can't beat Symantec Corporate Antivirus. You can also license it for your client machines, and have it centrally managed by the server.

NOD32 beats Symnatec.

NOD32 is a very good choice.

Have you installed IMON on the Windows 2003 server?
NOD32 advices to use IMON on desktops and notebooks and not on servers.

Scanning for traffic on ports 80, 8080 etc.. only makes you server slower.
And might causes problems.
Even with the fastest virus scanner on the market.

I'm also using Symantec Antivirus CE 10.1.5.5000 on my server and no issues.
