Where are PDF reports?

I apologize if this is a duplicate thread, but the forum search will not let me search for "pdf" in my query, stating that it's too short a search string.

Some of my clients have the ability to choose PDF format for reports and others do not. I just upgraded a client to v16 from 15.5 and they can no longer choose PDF reports. Was this removed?

It seems like you'd be able to figure it out based on your discovery. I'm guessing the v15 clients have PDF as an option and the v16 don't. I don't recall anyone mentioning anything about it and I don't see anything in the change logs but I just checked our instance and we don't seem to have PDF as an option on v16U2.

We started with v16 and have never seen PDF as an option for reports.

That's what I was thinking, but I also thought that maybe it was removed in the Linux version (the upgrade was from Windows to Linux). I just checked a Linux v15.5 instance and the PDF option is there, so it must be a v16 change. The client is asking for it back so unless I hear otherwise, I'll tell them it was removed in v16. They indicate that it was really important, so I'll see if it's important enough to warrant going back to their v15.5 instance.

It does seem odd to remove a feature that is virtually universal.

Hmm.. I'll see if I can find a v16 windows instance to double check but they probably just removed the PDF generation to reduce the CPU requirements. Or maybe it was a source of crashing. Maybe they should just make a stand alone reporting piece that uses the existing CDR socket.

Noticied that too, super sad for our customers, PDF looks way more pro than HTML

@JohnS_3CX Thanks for providing this information. Is the plan to leave it out indefinitely or will PDF reports ever be coming back? I haven't answered the client yet, and I want to be prepared with further answers to questions they may ask about this.

Can we ask for what reason it was removed ? Hard to tell clients that it was removed but i cant tell you why it was removed.

Is there any explanation as to why PDF reports have been removed. This is not a major problem I dont think however I have had a lot of customers complaining about it.

I know you can just extract and export to PDF if you really want however having a technical or commercial explanation as to why they have been removed would be really useful to quell these complaints.
