Where are the updateserver from 3cx located?

Hi community,

in which country are the updateserver located? We have strict access here to limited countrys only.

We have a tried acceess from 185.176.27.6:43442 - but we are located in germany. IP is from Bulgaria.

Did you get an incoming connection from that IP? I think that should be a sign that it is not the download server in this case, since your system will make outgoing connections to the download servers.

Probably a random hacking attempt, I would suggest to look it up in abuse IP databases.

The conection got killed by the firewall. So no harm done - but this one is a fresh install of it. Try to figure out what is coming to the 3cx and what should not be trying to connect.

No problem! Just keep in mind that for most purposes the PBX will initiate its own outwards connections.

But you cannot restrict everything because you can have incoming connections from

• Remote phones (if you use STUN)
• Remote Mobile clients on LTE
• Bridges (if you use any)
• Incoming calls from trunks
• 3CX Webmeeting

Those IPs are not all static so blocking all ingress could cause issues (depending on your use-case of course you can adapt)

Yeah - the main thing is that only a few countries are allowed to connect to. So I think I will see things fast when nothing is working anymore.
