Whisper API - Change Endpoint

Hi there!

Is it possible to change the openAI end point to a different service for transcription? Currently running more than $100 a day on transcription but there are a couple of other services that we have found that are 50% cheaper or also have the ability to have our own hosted version of The Whisper API I was just wondering if there is a possibility to change the endpoint to accomplish this?

Not currently no. Not sure this will come either. You could still use Google's engine instead but I think it's even more expensive.

I wonder if, in your case, it is actually necessary to transcribe every recording for every person? Maybe you only want to transcribe certain users? Or perhaps only certain recordings?

This week we are releasing a completely new version of our 3CX Recording Manager tool. In our tool you can choose which extensions to transcribe automatically, or you can select the desired recording and press the "Analyze" button. That button will transcribe, summarize, identify action items, appointments, key points, score agents, or whatever OpenAI prompts you add to Recording Manager (that's why the button says "analyze" rather than "transcribe").

Perhaps that would help with your transcription budget? If you want to use a different service, we can look at that too.
