All of my windows 3cx clients and web chrome extensions are disconnecting and reconnecting at regular intervals. Windows says unreachable and will reconnect, web client drops off deskphonescare OK, and iOS client seems OK. Firewall test was all green, rebooted 3cx server and server time is fine. It is v16 in Debian 9 on Hyper-v VM host.

Hi @bconvery,

Are the Windows Client and Web Client disconnecting at the exact same time? Are they on the same network?

Does this occur at precise intervals or is it random?

With regards to the Debian VM, did you follow the guide? https://www.3cx.com/docs/installing-microsoft-hyper-v/ paying special attention to Time Synchronization on Debian VM section.

The client side close event for WebSocket has a wasClean property, which was useful to me. Seems like it is set to true in cases where the client computer goes into sleep mode etc. or when the server is unexpectedly stopped etc. It is set to false if you manually close the socket, in which case you don't want to open the socket automatically again. Below code from an Angular 7 project. I have this code in a service, so it is usable from any component.

Code:
notifySocketClose(event) {

        if (!event.wasClean) {
            setTimeout(() => {
                this.setupSocket()
            }, 1000);
        }
    }

    setupSocket() { // my function to handle opening of socket, event binding etc.
    .....
    .....

            this.websocketConnection = this.websocketConnection ? this.websocketConnection : new WebSocket(socketUrl);
            this.websocketConnection.onclose = this.notifySocketClose.bind(this);
        }
    }
    .....
    .....

Sorry for the delay in responding. It appears random to me and sometimes both the Windows and Web client reset at the same time and the connection to the server and I see port 5001 drop is not established on the PC via netstat

I have followed the Debian VM and time process. The time matches for both the server and clients.

And just now, I ran a Windows PC on the phone LAN segment and it to drops at random intervals too using the Windows client. But our deskphones seem to be fine.

Very strange.

"Anti " virus software....

Hi @bconvery,

EDIT: This may be caused by a few different things. Could you perhaps have a local firewall that is tearing down the TCP connection after a certain time out? The Web Client and Windows Client keep a constant TCP connection to the PBX.

As Mr Galea has mentioned, make sure that there is no security software causing any conflicts.

I think this is the packets issue; just try to use sniffer tool and see what's happening on wireshark within the two endpoints (Hyper V and Windows). Also if you telnet from the windows to the server, do you get disconnected? Do your ping from client to server have timeouts at some points in time? I honestly think the problem is within your environment/setup.
