Hi,

I have just purchased a Jabra Evolve 65 for one of my team members. When I plug the USB bluetooth dongle into the phone and try to activate bluetooth the phone says cannot find bluetooth adapter. I have tried this on multiple of our X4U's and they all do the same. However, we have a number of X6U's (V1's) and when I do the same on them, it works perfectly and detects it, so I know the mule and headset are fine.

Has anyone else experienced this? any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Any 3rd party hardware connected directly on the ip phone is not supported.

But yet Fanvil list them as compatible in their own documentation....

This is not related with 3CX.

Hi,

If I'm not mistaken, Fanvil has their own bluetooth dongle and the X4U may need to use that one to see any bluetooth device. The X6U on the other hand has built in bluetooth so it doesn't even need the Jabra dongle to pair headsets. I think the documentation states that you need to use their own dongle, not the Jabra one.

In either case, might be a good idea to contact Fanvil support and see if they can help out as they will be more knowledgeable on the subject.

Heads up that some Fanvil models disable even the IN BUILT wifi and BT if you are running them as router phones/SBC. Have seen this happen myself on the V64. Thread here that educated me: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/fanvil-x5u-v2-bluetooth-issue.122084/

Edit: oh and watch out if you find the phone gets laggy/crackly over time as per my thread (seems X4U-V2 phone has a bug with Jabra Pro 920 and EHS20 adapter, maybe others too): https://www.3cx.com/community/threa...-and-slow-crackly-audio-fw-2-12-16-20.123291/

I'm sure I have had the same experience a while back, its due to the BT version, pretty sure you need a v4.0 dongle.

I've contacted Fanvil. The X6U (V1) recognises the dongle straight away

The Jabra Evolve 65 bluetooth adapter is V4

I'm using an X5U-V2 phone, not configured as a router, and connected to an on-prem 3CX that I implemented myself. My phone is reporting no Bluetooth module. If I plug the official Fanvil Bluetooth dongle into the phone, it says the same thing when I try to turn on Bluetooth. This is the second X5U-V2 I tried, as the Bluetooth used to work, and I thought maybe my phone was malfunctioning. Did Fanvil/3CX push some update that broke Bluetooth?

The phone will recognize any BT dongle, doesnt mean it will work though. Sounds like one for Fanvil support to assist with.

Hi
Our X4U-V1 and X6U-V1 do not have a built-in Bluetooth module, but they can support Bluetooth headsets through the BT dongle BT20. Therefore, my suggestion is to use the BT20, which has been tested by us. If you use other dongles, we cannot guarantee that they will work properly.

Can you please fix Bluetooth on the X5U-V2? The latest firmware pushed to our phones from 3CX have made both the internal Bluetooth and USB BT20 dongles nonfunctional.
