Hi all,

We have a customer with 5 Yealink AX83H WiFi handsets, each are connected to the PBX Hosted by 3CX as SBC's individually. The firmware of the phones is 180.87.0.6 and we have now updated their wireless access point to TP-Link EAP772 Tri-Band Ceiling Mounted WiFi 7 Access Point (9.2Gbps BE) using a TPLink POE Injector. The Access point goes to a 4 port Netgear gigabit Switch before going to the data cabinet. and a further 16 port Netgear Gigabit Switch, connected to a Draytek Vigor2865ax. This is connected to a 1gb down and 115gb upload FTTP Connection. SIP ALG is not enabled on the router.

Installing the new access point has improved things as the old access point was definitely a bottleneck. I am now at a bit of a loss as to where to go next, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I also experienced audio issues with AX83H phones installed at my customers’ sites.
After contacting Yealink, they provided me with a new firmware (180.87.0.15), which resolved the issue by improving Wi‑Fi and audio stability. However, this firmware is not yet certified by 3CX.

Here is Yealink’s feedback:

Hi Alain,

Good afternoon.

This is Jeffrey stepping, and it's pleasure to e-meet you.

We have released new firmware containing several improvements to wireless connectivity and roaming logic. We are also coordinating with 3CX to certify this firmware. You can find the generic firmware at the following link:

The main difference between this new firmware and the 3CX-certified firmware is the router phone feature. If enabling the router phone functionality on the AX83H is not required, you may directly upgrade the handset to the new firmware.

In addition, we would appreciate your feedback to confirm whether the overall roaming and call experience has been improved.

BR

Jeffrey

I hope that 3CX will quickly certify this new firmware and move it into production.

Best regards,
Alain

Hi all,

We are expecting new firmware for these models in the next couple of months when Yealink has completed the certification.

For the time being you can follow the manufacturer's recommendations until we receive the certified firmware.
