Good day i have a client with 100 users and majority of the users are using the Yealink T33G IP phone, cloud based PBX running through a mikrotik provisioned over local LAN.
a number of the phones have started giving this issue where the user would dial a number and the phoned would reboot itself each time they try call out.
has anyone else experienced this or have any idea why it would do this?

yes PBX and phones are all on latest firmware, if i factory rest and re provision it works for sometime and then dose the same.

What is the network topology the phones are connected to? How are they powered? how are they provisioned?

phones are connected to the local Network and provisioned over local LAN and Powered over Ethernet.

Does it happen to all phones? Can you replicate it? Can you log in to a phone's GUI and run a trace, replicate and check the capture? Has it always happened? is this a new symptom? Whats changed?

Have you reached the poe limits on the switch, ?

is It always the same phones ?

it has only happened to 4 out the 100 handsets, two out the 4 handsets started yesterday the other i replaced with spare handsets and they have been behaving themselves. i am going to try replacing these two and test. i am thinking maybe faulty handsets.

In this case you should a) up the logging on the phone to level 6 b) replicate the issue c) export logs and open a ticket with Yealink Support.

ok will do thank you for your information.

Hmm the fact they are restarting is a bit suspicious to me. Are they sure that it only happens when they dial out, or did they only notice it by chance during a time when they needed to dial out?

This usually happens if the power delivery is problematic, or if the phone crashes for some reason.

We have not seen any problems with those models rebooting, so I would suspect either:

a) Power delivery is problematic (check PoE switch overload, or scheduled reboot, or any alarm messages, try connecting phones directly to it with single cable avoiding patch panels etc)

b) Just maybe, something on the network is causing the phone to experience an exception it cannot handle, and it reboots as a result.

If you don't find anything it might be worth reporting this to Yealink directly, they might be able to help you log and troubleshoot in a more accurate way.

Hi oneroit,

We are facing similar issue on the T33G phones, have deployed 19 units of them and all of them are having the same issue.
Have used Pingplotter to ping to a few T33G on the network and can see there's ping loss happening throughout the day.
It seems the T33G with hardware version 2 is having such issue, as we have tested with T33G hardware version 1, there is no such issue. Firmware are the same on both phones.

Did you ever have the solution on this?

Hi yes, i have also dropped the firmware down on the problematic T33G and so far, it seems to be alright.

Hi oneroi,

I've just gotten a new firmware from Yealink and it seems to have fixed the issue.
Firmware version: 124.86.0.112

Hi ONGP

That is great news, thank you for Sharing.

We are having a similar issue with a client that has T33G's randomly rebooting when receiving a call. All devices are using a cloud PBX with an SBC and are on fw 124.86.0.40

Any idea where i can find 124.86.0.112?

Hi @ Davidi,

sorry i have not had the chance to test that firmware let alone find it. the phones that have given me issues i am running on the following firmware and it seems to be fine. 124. 85. 0. 40

The previous link seems to be removed from my post, please try to use this link (modify the hxxps):

Thanks for the follow up.

We found the issue was with the POE delivery. The client had brand new solid looking netgear switch. The switch was unmanaged but definitely had the power output to match the load. Once the switch was swapped with a Ubiquiti POE switch the problem was resolved.

We have seen this issue on the T33G's with unmanaged Netgear switches. It seems to be related to the power draw when using the default external ring. If you set the ringer to match the internal one, it resolves the issue.
