Yealink T46U Firmware 108.86.0.93

Hi, I got a phone at a receptionist desk that receive huge amounts of call ; its having issues of lag when try to transfert the call. The receptionist unplug the phone and replug it and its return to nomal use this been done 1 or 2 time by week when the problem come sems to have start with v20.

Hi @Alex Aubert

Is the phone provisioned as a router phone?

No its connected to a SBC running also on V20

I suggest factory resetting the phone instead of just restarting it, reprovisioning it again, and checking if the issue still occurs.

Nikolas,

Are you guys seeing this with router phones by chance? I have some T48Us that are becoming "laggy" over time. Only, and legit, ONLY the phones that are setup as SBC router phones. All the others that point back to pi SBCs dont experience this issue.

Any thoughts?

Hi no its a normal phone connected to a SBC on V20 ; the factory reset seems to have resolved the issue ... hope its not coming back. The phone receive a huge amount of call since its a car dealer receptionist but for now its seems to be good.

Hi,

We are having the same problem at multiply sites and also with delays on picking up the calls. The issue only started once we went to V20 in July last year. Our provider initially recommended we install router phones at each site. We did this using Yealink T43U, T46U and T48U. After doing this, we still experienced the lag on our admin phones. Firmware version on T46U phones is 108.86.0.93. Factory reset fixes our phones normally for between 2 to 4 weeks. The phone will start doing it again. Our provider recommended we put in SBC's after that, instead of router phones. After this we installed Windows SBC’s. They are Core i5, 16GB memory with 250GB SSD. Unfortunately we still experience the same issues with lag transferring calls and also picking up. Restarting the phone will fix it for between a week to two weeks. Factory resetting the phone fixes it for between 2-4 weeks but the problem always comes back. It is very frustrating as we never had these issues on v18. We have also changed out the phones at site as well. It mainly seems to only happen on admin phones that receive and make a lot of phone calls.

It is very frustrating that there has been no fix since July and the problem still remains. Attached is a video of the phone being slow to transfer.

Thank you,

Malcolm

We are also experiencing this issue at an increasing number of our clients, but its not just admin phones, its any T43U that gets alot of calls.. We deploy T43U models mostly but we still got some T27G models out there, and have no issue with those. It also doesn't matter if they are behind an SBC, setup as router phones, or in the case of one of our smaller clients, the dreaded STUN. I think it may be the firmware as we didn't have this issue on previous firmware.

@NikolasA_3CX We are seeing this across a PBX instance that has two sites, SBCs at each site so no router phones. Seems to line up with the firmware update. We've put in place a T54W to replace one of the T46U and so far it does not present the issue. Any updates you guys can provide?

In our basic testing at least, models like T43U, T46U, T48U haven't demonstrated such issues over a long period and we haven't had any mass reports about them in the past few years.

To everyone who posted here regarding this issue, we would recommend that you report your experiences to Yealink Support so they can be investigated directly by the manufacturer. They would be in a better position to weigh in on this and provide support since they produce both the hardware and firmware.

Adding to thread although the recommendation was already posted. We are experiencing the same issue across multiple sites. T4's behind an SBC. Reboot, factory reset, fixes it for a little while however issue will come back.

@JohnS_3CX The issues only started with V20 of 3CX, it was never an issue on version 18. As @ebrowne_sts said, it only an issue with T4x phones that handle a lot of calls. As you said past few years, it was never an issue before we were pushed to v20 in July last year and the multiply complaints we got after the upgrade. We will contact Yealink as well about this but the issue only started after the upgrade to V20 with 3CX.

We can report the same on v20 with over 50 T46U deployed. Phones get really slow to respond after heavy usage.

I was able temporarily resolve by forcing 3CX to push the 108.86.0.90 firmware that is currently on the Yealink site instead of the latest 3CX one. I had to go to phones > options > "Use Untested - Unsupported Firmwares", which enables a firmware button on the Phones page. I then click that Firmware button and uploaded the above-mentioned firmware for T4xU, highlight the firmware and clicked the Upgrade button to push to all phones of the same model.

If I downgraded individually on the phones without doing above, 3CX would just upgrade to the latest once the phone reboots again.

Of course, if this turns out to be something with the firmware and 3CX or Yealink pushes an update that fixes this, you would revert back to "Use 3CX Supported Firmwares" in Phones > Options. Also, I don't know if the Yealink firmware has SBC/Router phone capabilities so please test for those who provision with that method!

Another reason I believe its firmware related is that when you just hang up from a call and go to dial out, you start dialing and the phone doesn't register button presses, then all the sudden after like 5 to 10 secs all the numbers previously pressed show up all at once. Or you put someone on shared parking and go to retrieve it, and it takes about the same amount of time to register that you pressed the shared parking button again.

We are having the same issue with Yealing T43's and T46's as well. This is only on V20 and we are running update 4.

It would be great if someone from 3cx would chime in here and let us know if they have found a issue with the 3cx firmware for the Yealink T4 series phones

We have the same issue as well. We have many phones where we need to reboot them to clear the phone logs. This is frustrating end users since it deletes their call history on the phone. We are currently working around this by using Yealink's phone management console to schedule reboots on the phones. We need a firmware update from 3CX as 3CX does not support latest firmware direct from Yealink. Yealink does have firmware newer than 3CX to resolve the issue that was released to other phone service providers. We have approximately 300 phones with this issue.
