### 3CX V18 Enterprise licence hosted on AWS with an SBC on the local network. All updates installed ###

Hi all,

I decided to buy a previously owned and factory reset T48G (I know it's end of life. It's adequate for the workshop environment it's going in). I connected it to the local network this morning and could see the phone in the phones section of the management console. I assigned an extension to this phone without any problem and this showed up as a T48 in the phone provisioning tab of the associated extension.

I downloaded the latest firmware (35.83.0.130) file from here and followed the instructions here to update the firmware. The update completed successfully and I could see the phone in the phones section with its new firmware version.

I had no problem accessing the phone's web interface using username 'admin' and password 'admin' before the update.

Now the FW update has been carried out the phone will not auto provision and I can no longer access the phone's web interface using the default username and password. I've tried factory resetting it a few times and tried different username and password combinations including the web page password shown in the provisioning section of the extension.

Has anyone come across this problem before with a successful solution? It would be nice if I could access the phone's web interface again but more importantly it would be easier if it just auto provisioned then I wouldn't need to.

After you provision the phones, the password is changed

Under Phone Provisioning tab for the phone you will see 'Phone Web Page Password' under Options. This is the new password, click on the eye icon on the right to shown the password

The phone is yet to provision (either before or after the FW update) and I've already tried that password more than once.

Hi,

Take the phone away from this network. Plug into another simple network (ie. at home) and wait until it gets an IP.

Once it does, try to access it from there and see if you can get on its interface.

Thanks John. I've already loaded it into my car as that was my next plan. I also have an SBC at home connected to the same instance so I can WFH. Should I disconnect that first?

Hi,

No, the home SBC should be perfectly fine to leave as is.

I just wanted you to connect a the phone to a plain flat network, with no VLANs, VPNs, TFTPs, DHCP options or complex switches.

A point I forgot to make, ensure that you reset it again when you are home, and if you still have issues unplug your internet cable from the modem to drop the network offline and reset the T48G again.

Since it is pre-owned, it may be contacting a 3rd party provisioning server. They may be provisioning the phone to disable its Web UI. If there is no internet, it will not be able to get provisioning from anywhere to alter its behavior so this is a good test to keep in mind.

Thanks for your help John. I managed to resolve the problem last night. I connected it to the home network and it was still the same even after trying all of your suggestions.

I did a bit of digging and found that if you hold the OK button down for a few seconds you could manually force an update. I manually entered the 3CX provisioning URL and it then picked up its config file and is now working perfectly.

Thanks again.
