Hello Everyone
First of all thank you for checking this out and hope everyone enjoyed the holidays :)
Hopefully, someone can shine a light. i m taking over a client from a previous random phone service provider who provisioned the Yealink phones to thier hosted solutiion server and now they are not releasing the passwords for us to reset the phones. Now that being said is there anyway we can factory reset the phones and also once that is done the phones don't provision with previous provider again once they are connected to live internet again. i know RPS server will have those MAC addresses attached so i will also need to remove from there as well. Thanks in adavnce :)

Are they connected to the Internet at the time? If possible try without that so they can't connect out and reprovision themselves. Or remove from the other RPS first.

i have been told that the phone has been released from the RPS server by Yealink now. My vendor tech support is saying to do the below solution but whenever i try this i get UPDATE FAILED error.

" Hi, If you have a TFTP server setup on a private LAN, you can use the attached files to reset the password to admin. The TFTP server will need to be on a private LAN that does not have internet access."
files :
1 y000000000000.boot
2 y000000000000-firmware.cfg

Check what firmware they are currently running. Sometimes, to get from a specific firmware to another firmware you need a transition firmware.

Example: if coming from firmware ending in .199

i m trying to ge those 3 files here too , i found another solution .
.bin , .rom, .rfs

Hello SteveITS thank you so much but i have tried this and it prompts for password when i do that.
Going back to this comment, is it asking for a password before doing the reset, or after it boots and tries to provision with the old phone system? I was not aware the reset process could be protected.

In the last decade I've worked with Yealink - recovery cannot be password protected. I've also never heard of this from my Yealink contacts (I have direct lines to several Yealink support engineers) and a few sales people to.

when i try to reset to factory it asks for ADMIN password. All i m trying to do is take over these phones and get working with 3cx but it has become nightmare, on the other hand i ran into same issue with Grandstream and they helped over the phone and ANYDESKED and got it working with OPTIN 66 i beleive .

i htink recovery mighty be ok if i have al the files like .rom , .rfs, etc. i can not seem to find the direct url for that , yealink website seems too wide and can not locate the firmware or files like that . My TFTP and USB option might be failing because i don't have all the files in the either. which is coorect i m only given 2 files by the local vendor here , it sucks

OK, lets solve this.

What firmware are you on (and hardware version)? Can you post a screenshot of the status page (redact serial number)?

Typically your Yealink reseller will provide what you need, but I will help you out here.

Finally solved by recovering it with proper files.
