We have a self hosted 3CX PBX and all of our users have Yealink T57W phones. We provisioned all of our phones through the 3CX admin panel and then loaded custom configuration files into our phones to setup the soft buttons for different use cases. After several days of everything working as expected, the configuration files in most of our phones reset. The phones were still provisioned but our custom settings were all cleared. Does anyone know why this can happen and how to prevent it? I thought it had something to do with the 3CX server trying to re-provision the phones but I can't reproduce the problem by re-provisioning from the 3CX admin panel.

Phones normally update their config daily, or when rebooted. That should pick up the BLF button settings from the server. I would expect the re-provision to do the same...?

Did you set up a custom phone template? You may need to for this, though that renders the phones unsupported (until re-provisioned with a default template)...see the last section on that page.

We didn't set up a custom template, we were provisioning and then doing the config file load through the phone's web interface. The strange thing is that the config file was never cleared during weeks of testing and so far only happened once since we went live. It sounds like we should just make custom templates for the phones going forward. Thank you for the help.
