Hi Community,

since a few weeks users report low and bad voice quality if Yealink SIP T58A is used with Plantronics CS540 which is a wireless headset. The problem only exist if the headset is used. The handset of the IP phone delivers crispy and normal sound.

It's difficult to say if this problem is existing from beginning on (6 months) but I don't think so. It seems to be a problem of the interaction between SIP T58A and CS540 Headset. It's possible that this problem occured after updating firmware and / or 3CX update which will be done automatically.

In the past (or maybe until now) 3CX provided some values in their autoprovision CFG files which are regarding Yealink not optimal (voice.handfree_send = / voice.handset_send = / voice.headset_send = ).

Do you know about this issue and a possible solution?

Thanks for any help!

Best regards

Have you tried other makes of cordless headsets, with the same phones?
How many sets are involved?
I assume you've tried swapping headsets.
Is it distortion, or noise? If noise...could there be some new "device" nearby, that may be introducing this?

Thanks for your reply. All Plantronics CS540 Sets in combination with Yealink T58A are involved. Swap headsets or replace devices near won't have any effect. Sound is low, sounds "compressed", like too far away from microphone.

Also, I'm not sure about Plantronics but I know my Jabra headset has firmware updates from time to time. I would check to see if Plantronics has the same thing. I would also check the Plantronics configurator to make sure the recommended DIP switch settings haven't changed from when they were originally deployed.
