Hi Stef,

Yes, the EXP50 works with the T58V current firmware version 58.86.0.20.

You do not need to perform any setup at all, simply plug it into the phone then edit the extension, and start adding BLFs as would have done normally. Then reprovision or reboot the phone, and they will all appear on the EXP50.

The first position for the expansion is BLF 28

Hey John!

I have to tell you it doesn't work :(
Phone firmware is 58.86.0.20
I put it in on Pos 28 + 29, but on the phone it shows up on the next available space, on the phone BLF Display, not on the expansion display

  • 3CX Version, Enterprise Annual 16.0.8.9
  • Server OS,Windows Server 2019
  • Is the 3CX Server Hosted and where? local server
  • IP Phone Make/Model/Firmware version, e.g. Yealink T85A version 58.86.0.20
  • Provisioning Method: Local
  • Trunk Provider or VoIP Gateway Make/Model, Tmo Austria
  • Has the Firewall Checker passed: YES
  • Are custom Phone Templates being used: YES, but not for this T85A model.

I connected the EXP50 via USB to the phone.. it works.. adding it on the phone directly works.
but not remote with BLF Pos 28+

Just to be sure, let's check that the cable is connected as per Yealink's instructions:
  • Use the back USB port of the phone (as shown here on phone)
  • Do not use the top camera-USB port (not shown here on phone)
  • Use the included USB cable which plugs into the mini USB port of the EXP50

If the above is ok, then factory reset the phone while the EXP50 remains plugged in.

Now edit the extension and delete the phone from the Provisioning tab entirely and then press OK to save.

Assign your phone to extension as before from the "Phones" page but using the "Add Ext" button so we can create a brand new all-defaults extension. It should take you straight to the provisioning tab of the new extension now.

Before your press OK to save, navigate to the BLFs tab and keep adding "Empty" BLFs all the way to 29.
Choose type "BLF" for positions 28 and 29 only, and choose any extension you want.

Finally, press OK and give it a moment to auto-provision itself. The device should auto-provision and reboot.

The EXP50 should now end up auto-configured along with the phone, and should come back online with the expected config so long as you have followed the above instructions.

Okey, it seems to work without hotdesking.
wehn i use hotdeking it is displayed on the main phone, not on the exp. module.

Bug? or known thing?

Yes - for Hotdesking specifically this is known:

I will close this thread, please click the "Watch" button on the one I mentioned above to get notified when there are replies on that or to continue the conversation there.

Currently it has been noted as an issue for a future fix, but there is no ETA on when this will happen.
