We are running Yealink phones T46 and T48 with 3CX Pro version. If a user changes the phone wallpaper or ringtone on a provisioned phone, when this phone is reprovisioned , all user settings are lost. Is there a way to maintain user settings when the phone is reprovisioned ?

Using specific custom template for each user is difficult since we have many users.

Thanks

First have a look at V15.5 SP1. There were quite few new provisioning options introduced (default template required) including ringtone, date/time format, etc, so you may not need a custom one any more. Wallpaper mind you is not one of them.

About maintaining configuration, the prov file generated by 3CX has certain values in it. When the phone reboots it reloads this file. If a parameter is found in the prov file, the phone will overwrite its value. If a parameter has been set through the phones interface and this parameter is not found in the prov file, it will not be overwritten.

Hi Nick, thanks for the prompt response ..

In this case I can create a custom template without the parameters for ringtone, wallpaper etc and push that to the phones ?

When I update 3CX will the custom template be modified ?

Thanks

If you create a Custom Template without ringtone, wallpaper, etc, and select that in the Extension Settings, then the prov file that will be generated will be without those parameters.

Last time I checked, Yealink phones will only overwrite the parameters they find in the prov file and leave all others unchanged, so yes, if you do this you should be fine.
