2. Our documentation tells you how to combine DHCP with MAC Address reservation to get a stable and replicable deployment experience. This is effectively a "static IP" - in the sense that correct config will keep the IP Address static on the VM. Setting a static IP on the VM directly is sub-optimal, in my opinion.

FWIW we use DHCP reservations in almost all settings, especially after that one Windows 10 feature update that lost any configured fixed IP. Except we haven't set up DHCP in our data center...several of the web servers have more than one IPv4 address and all have a range of IPv6 allocated. As well as other concerns. So it was just easier to manually allocate. Possibly we could limit it to just 3CX servers. But either way, thank you.

Many of our customers that host 3CX on prem can have unreliable DHCP (they should fix it, but we can't do anything about it but tell them). As a result, I always (for on prem / places we don't control DHCP) use static IPs. But aside from that, I agree that DHCP reservations is the way to go.

We currently have several 3CX installations running on PVE.
I have a question: Is it an issue if we continue as usual and install 3CX on PVE using the 3CX ISO?

As far as I know, there have historically been issues whenever a support ticket had to be opened with 3CX regarding an installation hosted on PVE - these tickets were rejected. I must admit, however, that we only know this by hearsay; we have never actually had to open a support ticket with 3CX ourselves due to such a technical issues, never.

@fxbastler : Installing via 3CX ISO is fine. The published document is about autodeployment tooling.
