We are debating upgrading to 16SC so we can configure multi-company but one thing leaves me confused. In the instructions for enabling multi-company, CRM must be disabled first.

Does this mean after enabling multi-company that CRM integration (per-company or globally) is not possible?

I had assumed that the multi-company setup would allow different CRM templates per company directing updates to the company's phonebook?

RM integration is a global PBX feature and is not company-specific across multi-company deployments.

This is why CRM must be disabled before enabling multi-company mode. The CRM integration operates at the system level and cannot be configured separately for each company, nor can different CRM templates be assigned to different companies on the same PBX.

As a result, the scenario you describe—having each company use its own CRM integration and synchronise contacts into its own company phonebook—is not currently supported within a multi-company deployment. The CRM integration applies to the PBX as a whole rather than to individual companies.

Can the results of the CRM even if it's global be directed at a particular phonebook? Or does it always update the "company" phonebook? If it always updates the "company" phonebook, can this phonebook be hidden from any of the multi-company entities?

Global phonebook and it technically is disabled in MCM.

But honestly, if a customer needs CRM integration, use a dedicated instance. Never a shared one. You would hit too many limitations.

Only one of the customers sharing the instance require CRM integration. The primary customer has a handful of small satellite companies. Really don't need MCM but thought it would solve the current issue of the global phonebook showing contacts and especially extensions belonging to the primary company to the satellite company users.

It would seem not

I'll stick to the existing 8SC for this renewal

Thanks all
