Good afternoon. The task is for the AI Receptionist to answer a call, record the customer’s speech, transcribe it using AI, and send a text log to a specific email address.

Hello, yes it is possible for the AI receptionist to do that, although the Personal Assistant mode might be better tuned for this exact flow, as the Receptionist is build with the assumption that it will be forwarding calls to the requested destinations.

Hi @pogni
Yes, this is possible. The AI Receptionist can be configured to perform these tasks, but you'll need to define and configure the required behavior in the AI Prompt tab.

For more information, please refer to our guide here: https://www.3cx.com/docs/ai-agent-configuration/

Note: The AI Receptionist does not natively save conversation transcripts or send them via email

The task is simply to answer an incoming call, record the conversation and transcribe it into text. Then simply send it to the relevant person by email. They do not need to transfer the call anywhere; they just need to answer it and process it.

As stated above, yes it can do what you are asking. If you need something specific on how to do it, let the forum know. Please note that for AI agents in general, an AI Edition licence is needed (https://www.3cx.com/ordering/pricing/features/). You should also make sure your PBX is updated to the latest release, update 9.

Could you help me set up Personal Assistant properly? Or perhaps provide a link to the description and instructions?

Hi @pogni
The initial setup is fairly straightforward. Simply assign the DID to the AI Receptionist, and any calls to that DID will be answered by the AI.

Regarding recording the call and sending or processing the transcription, this part requires a custom implementation on your side. The PBX stores the transcription, and it can be viewed from the Admin Console. However, if you want to automatically save it elsewhere, send it by email, or integrate it with another system, you'll need to implement that workflow yourself.

There isn't a step-by-step guide for this specific scenario because every implementation is different. Depending on your requirements, there are multiple ways and tools you can use to achieve this.

As for the AI Receptionist itself, please refer to the documentation I shared earlier ( https://www.3cx.com/docs/ai-agent-configuration/). Start by setting up the AI Receptionist, configure the prompts to match your desired behavior, test it, and then refine and change as needed.
