Hi @greychain !
Could you elaborate on your use case?
What do you mean by setting the "user ID" based on the phone number? What are you trying to achieve?

If you're referring to routing, you can configure the chat's receiving destination to a queue or extension, and use Office Hours to automatically log agents in or out of queues. If that's not the case, please provide more details.

I want to use the phone number associated with the phone as their User ID. I don't want them to have to input any details for a chat. A single button should connect them to chat or call function without them having to input their name of number

How would the users phone number be know to the chat widget? You wish the widget to be on a website, and visitors to simply click on it, and their phone number to be added? Are they logged in?

Can you be more specific on the actual scenario - what devices are involved, who is the users you are referring too, a 3cx extension user, or a website visitor?

I need to embed the chat function into an Android/iOS app. I want to use the id provided by the app to set the name of the chat user. The only action I want from the person using the app, the customer is to click on Chat or Call Us.

OK, I think that is clearer now, you need suggestions or assistance to build an app that has
a) rights to read the mobile devices phone number and
b) can load the chat URL and paste that number in the initial chat screen in the background.

Yes , I'm almost there with it pasting the user details in to email and name boxes automatically. Well it is working manually just now, might be a timing issue for the auto side. Would be much nicer and cleaner if there was an API or documentation for this.

OK seems like it's too much trouble to use the chat app this way. Thanks.
