Hi All,
Just wondering if anyone else is having an issue with the latest 3CX windows client and chat.
About 9 days ago, several users reported that an update window appeared when they logged on and 3CX started.
I checked the clients and no actual update was done.

To be sure, we updated the server to 16 update 5 and the windows client to the latest version.
Since updating the Windows clients, we are getting complaints from a large number of users saying that chat doesn`t work unless they shut down 3cx and start it again.

I am seeing that these are mostly remote users, who logon to their PC, then connect the VPN to the company.
Would this be causing an issue with Chat, and only chat?

would appreciate some feedback from anyone who is seeing the same problem, and hopefully a suggestion on how to fix.

Hello, are talking about this update window?

I am not sure.
I think this is the message that came up on Monday, before the issues started happening.
We have also identified what appears to be the issue scenario.
Remote user logs on to PC, 3CX client starts and connects via public IP, User connects VPN, chat becomes unusable until client is restarted. Doesn`t see to handle the change back to internal IP.
So, we are looking at maybe firewall rules?

It is best practice to connect to your VPN first, and then launch everything.

If your apps generally load at startup, either disable auto-start, or exit them before connecting to VPN and then relaunch them (3CX App, Browsers, other work related client software etc).

This is a side-effect of changing to a different network while the apps are running.

OK.
Thank you.

We have many issues with chat not working, as well as other features unless the app is restarted a few times.

@Eli55 are you also using a VPN on the PC which runs the 3CX app?

Yes. This wasn't a problem in the past though.

I can't say anything about the past, but think it is best to get the VPN up and running before launching any apps in general.

If you launch the app after the VPN is connected, I don't expect you should face any issues.

There are other issues. When you hit send, they don't send right away and sometimes multiple messages are sent. It keeps freezing.

A new update has been released, it should appear in your management console soon.

Once you download it via the management console, the next time any user relaunches it they will be prompted to update.

Please let us know how it goes after the update to Windows app v16.3.0.144
