Hi,

Can someone explain to me why the 3CX Assistant won't log in and constantly times out, when the 3CX Softphone (ver 7), running right beside it on the same machine, does not experience any problems?

Not being able to see the extensions and / or the Assistant not logging in and / or the extensions or call info not updating fast enough (why is this??!), makes the 3CX Assistant a completely useless application and completely devalues the 3CX Softphone.

I'm sure I'll start to annoy 3CX, but until this is fixed, 3CX causes more problems than it's possibly worth - and I'll keep posting on the forum until it's fixed.

If I sound upset, it's because I am. I have to deal with my 25 staff each and every day who experience problems with the phones.

My v7 Assistant has stopped working as well. It just won’t login, stating “Login Failed. Check authorisation settings” each time. But it was working last week AND I can’t for the life of me think what’s changed...

Robert.

Check your services in the admin console, the assistant service likes to lock up randomly under high load.

All looks fine and I've restarted the service (and rebooted the server) a number of times. There's no heavy load as the system is only running a handful of extensions as an evaluation...

Then check your firewall on both the client, and the server. Make sure your credentials haven't changed, some settings users can change in the voice mail system and those settings must be replicated in the assistant.

Thanks. That was it. I’m a fool: I’d a mental blank and was trying to stick the sip authentication password in, not the user voice mail one. Thanks again for the steer.

Your welcome, glad it was something easy for a change.
