3CX Country Blocking Feature - Cannot call mobile numbers in Ireland

We cannot call mobiles or VoIP numbers in Ireland (35383, 35385, 35386, 35387, 35388, 35376) as they are being detected as blocked by the 3CX Country Blocking Feature.

Ireland [Europe > Ireland (353)] is 'allowed' in the Country Blocking Feature and it doesn't drill down further into 'area codes' in Ireland so I've no idea how this is happening. I've also tried adding + (so +35386) but the results is the same, i.e. blocked.



However, the plot thickens...

I can confirm that after some playing around with allowing all regions / countries and then disallowing one-by-one I can call 35386 when I allow China [Asia and the Middle East > China (86)].

Anyone any idea what is going on here? Thanks in advance.

Also, I do not have E164 Processing Settings enabled and am not stripping / prepending any digits, etc.

There must be an entry, blocking, that includes four digits (3537) as that is specifically mentioned in the message. ..or it may be a bug, given the "86" discovery. You can't be the only 3CX user that calls mobiles using those prefixes, so I suspect that there is another setting, that is not correct.

Although I'm pretty technical I'm relatively new to 3CX and not sure where to look in this case?

To call 35387 (traditionally an IE Vodafone mobile number which hasn't been ported) I have to allow Australia > Pitcairn (872), but get this, it will only allow numbers such as 353872 and not 353873 which results in rejection by the Country Blocking Feature!

It's as if the country code - 353 - is being ignored and then it's failing to match an allowed country for the remainder of the number.

As mentioned I do not have the E164 Processing Settings enabled. In truth I don't really understand why / if I would need it enabled and I am of the impression that, as this PBX is used in several countries, it might confuse things.

Everyone is dialling using the country code, e.g. Ireland (Dublin) 3531 or Polish mobile 486 or Czech Republic 420 and the only issues are with Irish mobiles (35383, 35385, 35386, 35387, 35388) and VoIP numbers (35376).

Hi,

Even if you disable E164, the system still uses the "International Dial Code" field to determine how to handle the Country Code

"In addition to the outbound rules, which can restrict who is allowed to make calls, the allowed country codes are a nice feature, where the PBX can limit to which countries, it is able to make outgoing calls to.

It will use the E164 settings of the PBX to match the international dial code of the country it is configured to work in, then it detects the international dialling codes of the countries it is allowed to make calls to.

The dialled number will be matched after being processed, and possibly reformatted by the outbound rule."

So if this matches with the first digits for for your mobile destinations, it uses it to then lookup the country codes and decide whether the final destination is allowed.

In addition can you detail how is configured the page E164 Processing even though the checkbox "Process E164 Numbers", specifically the International dial code (also called Exit code) matters for the country lookup and shouldn't be empty but 00 for most countries including Ireland.
