I have a SPA504G phone connected to a 3CX phone system. I tried to configure the XML phone directory service. When I go into the directory on the phone I am presented with the name I provided for my 3CX directory but if I select it I get an error saying 'Request failed'.

The attached screenshot shows how I have configured it on the phone consol.

Can anybody advise what I might be doing wrong?

have you tried pasting the URL into your internet browser?
does it work there?
are you on v11?

What version of 3CX are you running?
If you are running 12 you are missing your specefic directory after /provisioning/
Version 12 added a new directory that should look like this example:

http://1.1.1.1:5000/provisioning/NEWDIRECTORY/cisco_phonebook.xml

Some of our customers had this issue after an 11 to 12 upgrade.

I'm using version 11.

I played about with the xml and noticed that the issue only happens when there are greater than 90 entries. Can this be correct?

Is there any way around this?

From the Cisco manual regarding Personal directory:
Your IP phone provides a phone directory for you to store and view frequently dialed numbers. This directory appears on your phone, and you can dial numbers from the directory. The Cisco SPA502G, Cisco SPA504G, Cisco SPA508G, and Cisco SPA509G support up to 100 entries. The Cisco SPA512G and Cisco SPA514G support up to 150 entries. (Not available for the Cisco SPA501G.)

So maybe a limitation of all of their directories? Just a thought...
