Hello,

I have been trying for weeks not to figure out why my fax number keeps disconnecting. I have been reassured by my provider it is running to a T.38 line. Whenever I attempt to send that fax, it rings and immediately disconnects the line. I have setup the Venta Fax software with Fax VOIP T38 software as well as the included 3CX Fax relay system. Either way, it is not working. Has anyone correctly setup this scenario to receive faxes (either through 3CX relay) or via Venta Fax? All help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Brad

Hi,
Why do you think that 3CX PhoneSystem disconnects the call?
Thanks

I have seen this issue when t.38 is not enabled on the voip provider. I am currently waiting on my provider to provision a line as t.38. As it stands right now when you call it and its routed to the fax virtual number the call is dead air then hangs up. This is on nexvortex, and I have seen this behavior in the past when the voip provider had not provisioned the line for t.38

Here is what the 3CX log says...

16:05:44.072 [CM503008]: Call(111): Call is terminated
16:05:42.397 [CM503007]: Call(111): Device joined: sip:[email protected]:5100;user=phone

16:05:42.320 [CM505003]: Provider:[Phones] Device info: Device Not Identified: User Agent not matched; Capabilities:[reinvite, replaces, able-no-sdp, recvonly] UserAgent: [FPBX-2.9.0(1.8.7.0)] PBX contact: [sip:********51@***.***.***.114:5060]
16:05:42.313 [CM503001]: Call(111): Incoming call from 1********55@(Ln.10005@Phones) to <sip:[email protected]:5060;user=fax>
16:05:42.293 [CM503012]: Inbound any hours rule (unnamed) for 10005 forwards to Fax:888

I hope this helps for added information.

I am not sure if it is 3CX or if my settings are just off base. Could it be that my VOIP service provided ran my fax line through the same username & password setup as the other four lines? For instance, my inbound is as simple as adding a *5153 in the DID and then asking it to link to 3CX Fax (send email to ext 888).

Thanks...
