I have a standard edition of 3cx and am using the 3cx domain name to point to my pbx. We do have a static IP address at our office.

We have a reseller account as well and I was doing an install on Amazon Lightsail using one of the 4-call path demo keys.

PBX Express tried to register the 3cx domain name *.3cx.us with the demo system and now none of our soft-phones that are at remote locations work because they’re set up to go to that domain name.

Is there a way to get that domain name back, or to use our own domain name with the standard license that we have? Why did PBX Express assign our 3cx subdomain to the demo install?

Log into your customer / partner portal and release the FQDN - restore from backup and you should be ok. Probably.

PBX express uses a script to do the install so the FQDN had to be put in somewhere...

Yep. You're right. I see what I did wrong. It's fixed now. I ran a backup and then restored from the backup and it reregistered the subdomain. Thanks!

Glad I could help!

Glad to see the issue has been restored. If a key is bound to an FQDN then once you use the same key for an installation then the FQDN bound to the key will be automatically selected.
