3cx express - tunnel port

Hi,
We currently use a 3CX instance installed in the cloud (installed through PBX Express). All phones in the office connect to an SBC, which is connected to the 3CX server through the default tunnel.
Now, we need to install a second 3CX instance, still in the cloud, which will be used by another bunch of phones in the same office, still connected to an SBC (a second one).
This means we'll have 2 SBC at the same location, connected to the same internet line.
I suppose it would be better to use a different tunnel port for each 3CX instance ?
If so, is there any way to change the tunnel port ?

Hi next2

You can change the port of the tunnel during installation of the PBX, not after.

However, you should technically be able to still use the two SBC on site even if you don't change ports, because each SBC will connect to its own tunnelled PBX.

The only thing to keep in mind is that when you reset or install a new phone, it will appear on both PBXs Phones as an unprovisioned device. Once you provision it on one of the two PBXs, it will only talk with its respective SBC. Just reject the phone entry in the other PBX to keep your list of phones tidy.

If your firewall allows use of the port 5090 then both SBCs should work fine and they will connect to their respective PBX.

Thank you for your answer. We'll then proceed with a normal installation, using the default ports.
One more question: when restoring an existing PBX, do we have the opportunity to change the port numbers during the restore process ?

If you are making a new installation and choose the option to restore from backup, you can change them.

But if you have an existing installation like the one you asked, and you simply restore a backup, then the ports remain as is.

You don't need to change the tunnel port. The SBC makes the connection out to 3CX so it's perfectly fine to have multiple SBCs behind a single firewall connecting to different 3CX cloud instances. About the only issue would be making sure you don't accidently PnP provision phones via the wrong SBC.
